Clinibase | Collingwood

It’s always great seeing a finished project come together, but this one was particularly enjoyable.

Clinibase were a great client to work with from start to finish. Easygoing, friendly and open to ideas, which made designing and delivering their new space a really enjoyable project for our team.

A big part of the project was making use of what was already available. Clinibase retained and reused 103 existing workstations, while showroom furniture already within the building was incorporated into the new design. This helped reduce waste, shorten lead times and give the project a greener footprint.

Across both stages, we delivered new meeting rooms, offices and collaborative spaces to support the way their team works. The space also features murals by local graffiti artist MEGGS, bringing some of Collingwood’s character into the workplace and adding something unique to the finished design.

Clinibase specialises in clinical trial recruitment, helping connect suitable participants with clinical research across Australia and New Zealand. Their growth has been impressive, with the business expanding into a second floor just six months after we completed the initial stage. At the rate they’re growing, it looks like we may need to find room for a few more offices and meeting rooms before too long.

It’s been great getting to know the team and their business throughout the process. We also had the opportunity to work with Clinibase on a promotional video of their own, interviewing the team about what they do and providing an insight into the clinical trial recruitment process.

A few photos of the finished space for now, with the full project video coming next week.

We’ve recently given the QTC Build website a full refresh, working with the team at Seddon Digital.

The updated site has a much cleaner and more refined look, with a new Projects section showcasing some of our completed work across Melbourne.

We’ve also added plenty of new project photos and videos, giving a better look at the spaces we deliver and the work that goes into them.

If you haven’t had a look recently, check it out at www.qtcbuild.com.au

Thanks to Seddon Digital for bringing the update together :)

One project can often lead to the next.

After completing the Endress+Hauser fitout in Mulgrave, our work caught the attention of the building management team. That introduction led to QTC Build being engaged to complete the make good and spec suite fitout of another tenancy within the building.

The goal with a spec suite is a little different to a traditional office fitout. There’s no end user yet, so the space needs to appeal to a broad range of prospective tenants without spending money on things they’re likely to change later.

We completed the full make good, rationalised the existing mechanical and hydraulic services, and delivered a modern office with new meeting spaces, workstations, custom joinery, kitchen and breakout areas.

Where existing furniture and materials were still in good condition, we retained and repurposed them, putting the budget into the areas that would have the biggest impact on presentation and leasing appeal.

That first project has since grown into an ongoing relationship with Building Management, with QTC Build completing further spec suites, lobby upgrades, office reconfigurations, make goods and smaller works across their portfolio.
A good example of where doing one job well can take you.

Some projects just mean a little more when you genuinely enjoy the people you’re building them for. We're very excited to share this video of our most recent Denture Clinic Fitout!

Melbourne Smiles is a family business in every sense of the word. Sheli, James and the entire team were an absolute pleasure to work with, and by the end of the project it felt like we’d gotten to know not just the business, but the people behind it.

In this video, we take a walk through their new clinic in Caulfield North with CEO Sheli Tsun, who talks about the build, the new space and their experience working with QTC Build.

We also sit down with Director and Dental Prosthetist James Tsun to hear more about Melbourne Smiles, what they do and the work that goes on behind the scenes.

We’ve already gone into the ins and outs of the build, so this time we wanted to let Sheli and James tell a bit more of the story themselves.

For us, the best part of this project was the relationship we built along the way. We had a lot of fun working with the Melbourne Smiles team and there was a genuine level of trust and collaboration throughout the whole process.

We’re really proud of how their new home has come together, but even happier to have delivered it for such a great group of people.

A massive thank you to Sheli, James and everyone at Melbourne Smiles for trusting us with it.

Have a look through the finished clinic and hear from Sheli and James themselves.

This week we’re sharing the finished photos from the new home of Melbourne Smiles at 3/115 Hawthorn Road, Caulfield North. I also managed to get caught in the photos wearing my moccasins on picture day, so naturally that one had to make the cut.

We worked together to purpose-build the clinic around the way Melbourne Smiles actually operates, taking into account their day-to-day workflow and specialist equipment requirements to bring the clinical, laboratory and staff areas together in one considered space.

The new clinic includes two treatment rooms fitted with AJAX dental chairs, a dedicated Denture Laboratory, CAD/CAM room, Plaster and Plant rooms, an inviting Reception and Waiting area, office, staff breakout area and upgraded amenities.

The treatment rooms were designed specifically for a denture clinic setup, with water and waste connections to the chairs and compressed air available where required, without the suction infrastructure typically required in a general dental practice.

We worked closely with the team to determine the right layout for their specialist equipment and also assisted with securing a new gas connection to the property for use in their day-to-day plaster work.

From the beginning, this was a great project to be part of. Melbourne Smiles is a family-oriented business, and that comes through in the way they treat their staff, their patients and the people they work with. We had a fantastic relationship with the team throughout the project and genuinely loved working with them.

We also had the opportunity to do something a little different with the finishes, working with Roland DG Australia to introduce their DIMENSE wall technology to the project — the first installation of its kind in any Victorian business, something we’re pretty proud to have been part of. Dimense: https://lnkd.in/gSf-MuVi

The finished Reception wall looks fantastic. The speckled plaster effect was selected as a subtle reference to the plaster work that forms part of Melbourne Smiles’ day-to-day business, complemented by their inset logo to bring the whole feature together.

A project we’re very proud to have delivered and, more importantly, a fantastic client we’d happily work with again.

Photos this week. Full project video next week.

The walkthrough is here.

A few weeks ago we shared photos of our latest fitout for Empower Wealth Advisory. Today we're taking you through the finished space.

From an empty warm shell to a modern workplace, this project included custom joinery, meeting rooms, a podcast studio, breakout spaces and an operable wall, all delivered in close collaboration with the Empower Wealth team.

A big thanks again to Empower Wealth for trusting us with the project, and to everyone involved in bringing it together.

Last week we shared a few photos from our latest fitout for Empower Wealth.

Due to a small technical hiccup, we're changing the order of our video releases. This week we're sharing the operable wall installation, with the post-handover walkthrough coming next week.

A big thanks to Lotus Doors for another outstanding installation. Their attention to detail, workmanship and professionalism are always second to none, and it's a pleasure working with them on projects like this.

Another one wrapped up by the QTC Build team.

This time we delivered a 720m² office fitout for Empower Wealth in North Melbourne, transforming this warm shell space into a modern workplace designed for collaboration, flexibility and day-to-day practicality.

This was one of those projects where everything just clicked. The Empower Wealth team were fantastic to work with, there was plenty of collaboration throughout the project, and we had a lot of fun bringing the vision to life.

One of the highlights was building yet another podcast studio, which seems to be becoming a bit of a QTC Build specialty after delivering The Resilience Project studio last year.

Keep an eye out next week, we'll be releasing a walkthrough video of the Empower Wealth fitout, showing the transformation from an empty tenancy through to the finished office, along with a few behind-the-scenes moments from the build.

We also installed an operable wall with our friends at Lotus Doors and we filmed the installation process, so keep an eye out for that video as well in the coming weeks.

Thanks again to the Empower Wealth team for trusting QTC Build. We can't wait to share this video with everyone next week.

Another commercial office fitout completed by QTC Build.

This project involved the relocation and fitout of a 500m² tenancy for Endress+Hauser in Mulgrave, as the team moved to a new space within the same building.

We delivered a practical, well planned workplace designed to support the team’s day to day operations, with improved flow, functional work areas and custom joinery throughout.

The fitout included:
• 20 workstations
• 4 offices
• 2 meeting rooms
• Workshop area
• Kitchen upgrade
• Custom joinery, including a feature island bench, planter, credenza and storage solutions

A nice bonus from the project was that the quality of the finished work caught the attention of the building management, who later engaged QTC Build for additional works within the building.

Thanks to the Endress+Hauser team for trusting us with the project.

And we're back baby!

It's been a little quiet on social media over the past few months, but for good reason. QTC Build had a huge run of projects at the end of last year, followed by the lead up to an eight week overseas holiday, the holiday itself, and then the inevitable post holiday blues when it was time to come home. Not bad problems to have.

The good news is that QTC Build certainly hasn't been quiet. We've completed several more projects, captured plenty of photos and videos, and can't wait to start sharing them with you over the coming weeks.

After more than three years without taking more than a few days off, I finally stepped away from the business for eight weeks while leaving it in very capable hands. I walked the Camino de Santiago for the second time, covering over 800 km on foot which gave me a chance to reflect on life, the business, and where we're headed.

The original plan was to come back fitter though unfortunately, Spanish food, w**e and b**r had other ideas, so that goal has been postponed for another day. After losing a few toenails, a bajillion blisters, and surviving the hike, I spent time exploring Spain, Portugal and France before reluctantly making my way back to Australia.

Now it's time to get back to doing what we do best. We've got some fantastic fitout projects to share, a few exciting things happening behind the scenes, and we're looking forward to showing you what's been keeping us so busy.

Thanks to everyone who has continued supporting QTC Build while I've been away. Stay tuned. There's plenty more to come.
