A complete backyard transformation designed for relaxed family living, entertaining and everyday enjoyment.

This concept brings together a resort-style swimming pool, covered alfresco, contemporary pool house/second dwelling, half basketball court and generous open lawn space, creating a backyard that feels both functional and luxurious.

The planting palette has been carefully selected to soften the architecture, provide year-round interest and create a private green backdrop throughout the garden. Clean lines, natural textures and low-maintenance materials ensure the space remains practical while delivering a timeless contemporary aesthetic.

Every project starts with understanding how our clients want to live, and this design is a great example of creating multiple outdoor zones that work together as one cohesive landscape.

What if your backyard became your favourite holiday destination? 🌴
A flying fox. Basketball court. Pool. Spa. Outdoor shower.

Not a resort. A family backyard in Hoppers Crossing. 🌿

This concept was designed to transform a large open block into a space where every member of the family has somewhere to be.

From the adventure playground and sports court to the poolside retreat and entertaining areas, every zone was carefully designed to balance fun, relaxation and everyday living.

The result is a backyard that feels like a holiday destination without ever leaving home.

A full outdoor transformation designed to connect the home, pool, entertaining area and garden into one practical, polished landscape.

This concept includes a refreshed front entry with rendered masonry pillars, timber-look battens, integrated letterbox and lighting, creating a clean first impression from the street. Exposed aggregate driveway and footpaths provide a durable, low-maintenance finish, while floating entry steps with subtle lighting add a more refined arrival experience.

At the rear, the design focuses on lifestyle and flow. A new pool zone is framed with glass and picket-style pool fencing, soft layered planting, and white concrete sleeper retaining walls to create a bright, contemporary backdrop. The alfresco area is extended with a roofed outdoor kitchen, BBQ, pizza oven and dining space, designed for everyday family use as well as entertaining.

A garden pod, terrace area, equipment enclosure, screened water tank, boundary planting and stepping-stone side access have all been considered to make the space feel complete, functional and visually resolved.

Whether you are renovating an existing home or planning a new build, a detailed landscape concept helps bring every outdoor area together before construction begins.

Thoughtful design. Practical detailing. A landscape that works from the front fence to the back garden.

Sometimes the smartest design solutions are not the most expensive ones β€” they are the ones that make better use of what is already there.

For this project, the challenge was to transform a narrow outdoor area into a practical and inviting entertaining space without overcomplicating the build or pushing the budget too far.

The design introduces a compact outdoor kitchen zone with a BBQ, pizza oven, stainless steel cabinetry and firewood storage, all positioned neatly against the boundary. A decorative composite privacy screen creates a stronger backdrop to the cooking area while helping the space feel more finished and intentional.

Rather than using costly structural changes, the design works with simple, effective materials such as concrete paving, concrete sleeper retaining, timber-look screening, corten steel edging and low-maintenance planting. These choices keep the space durable, achievable and visually warm.

The result is a clever upgrade to a previously underused part of the backyard β€” turning a narrow side area into a functional entertaining zone that feels private, organised and ready to enjoy.

A great example of how thoughtful design can completely change the way a small outdoor space is used.

This 3D design visualisation was created for a G.J. Gardner display home, where the landscape needed to feel polished, practical and beautifully connected to the architecture.

At the front, a rendered boundary fence with black aluminium blade infill, a sliding driveway gate and matching pedestrian access creates a clean modern arrival. The garden softens the built form with layered planting, ornamental trees, bluestone stepping stones, a curved polished concrete seat and a raised water feature that adds a calm focal point to the entry.

Through the side and rear spaces, the design continues with cohesive fencing, trellis screening, cobblestone paving, lush boundary planting and carefully planned outdoor zones. The backyard includes a louvred pergola, outdoor kitchen, fire pit area and lawn β€” creating a compact but highly functional outdoor lifestyle space.

The result is a display home landscape that feels refined, welcoming and ready for everyday living, while giving future homeowners a clear vision of how the outdoor areas can be used, enjoyed and connected.

Designed around a strong sense of arrival and a relaxed backyard lifestyle, this landscape concept connects the front garden, driveway, side entry and pool terrace into one flowing outdoor experience.

The front yard is softened with continuous boundary planting, lawn and organic stepping stones, creating a welcoming arrival that feels garden-led rather than purely functional. Toward the rear, the driveway transitions into a curved corten steel garden bed, following the natural slope of the site and guiding movement toward the backyard.

At the back, the lower entertaining terrace becomes the heart of the outdoor living space, with French pattern paving, an outdoor kitchen, dining area and a relaxed lawn zone. Above this, the swimming pool sits on a separate upper tier, framed by glass fencing and privacy planting for a clean, resort-style feel.

A new double garage and carport provide practical storage and covered parking, while the far corner of the backyard becomes a dedicated fire pit lounge with L-shaped timber seating β€” perfect for cooler evenings and family gatherings.

A layered design that balances function, privacy and lifestyle, while creating a strong connection between the home, garden and outdoor entertaining spaces.

A full-property landscape transformation designed around movement, arrival, water, fire and relaxed outdoor living.

This large-scale concept reimagines the property as a series of connected outdoor experiences β€” from the sweeping driveway arrival and layered front gardens, through to a relocated resort-style pool area, louvred poolside pergola, sunken fire pit retreat, rear entertaining terrace, vineyard entry statement and softer garden pathways that link the spaces together.

The material palette was kept calm, natural and architectural: Tundra Grey paving across the pool, alfresco and fire pit areas; off-white rendered garden walls; grey sandstone feature walls; timber-look cladding in Ash Coastal / dark grey tones; corten steel edging; crushed rock pathways; Charlotte sandstone and granite boulders; black aluminium pool fencing; and soft Dichondra-planted steppers to break up the harder surfaces.

One of the key considerations for this project was the planting. With no irrigation or bore water available, the garden needed to rely on tough, drought-tolerant and resilient species that can handle harsher conditions once established. The planting palette was built around hardy natives, Mediterranean-style plants, textural grasses and low-water groundcovers β€” including Acacia, Lomandra, Dianella, Westringia, Correa, Eremophila, Casuarina β€˜Cousin It’, Kangaroo Paw, Agave, Grass Trees, Leucadendron and other robust selections.

The result is a garden that still feels lush and layered, but is designed with long-term practicality in mind.

The relocated pool becomes a generous resort-style destination within the landscape, framed by a long louvred pergola, Tundra Grey paving, soft planting and architectural screening. By contrast, the existing pool area is reworked into a sunken fire pit retreat with U-shaped built-in seating, tiered rendered garden beds and a central linear fire feature β€” creating a more intimate evening gathering space.

Around the broader property, curved raised garden beds, feature boulders, drought-tolerant planting, crushed rock pathways and informal seating moments create a landscape that feels grounded, practical and connected to the scale of the site.

This design is not just about creating beautiful outdoor spaces. It is about creating a landscape that supports everyday living, entertaining and long-term resilience β€” a garden that can feel refined and generous without relying on excessive water use.

Another recently completed landscape design concept, created to bring together strong modern architecture, functional outdoor living, and a clean, cohesive streetscape.

The front garden was designed to make a bold first impression, with a structured boundary fence and gate, exposed aggregate driveway, open lawn area, and layered planting that softens the architectural lines while maintaining a refined, contemporary feel.

At the rear, the focus shifts to lifestyle and usability β€” a covered alfresco with a louvred pergola, an integrated outdoor kitchen, generous paving, and a pool area designed as a private retreat. The material palette keeps the space feeling crisp and elegant, while the planting adds softness, privacy, and a lush backdrop throughout the garden.

Along the side boundaries, dense screening and productive/service zones have been carefully integrated to ensure the garden is not only beautiful, but practical for everyday family living as well.

A modern outdoor space designed to feel calm, functional, and timeless from front to back.

A complete landscape design concept for a modern family home in Truganina.

The front garden was designed to create a clean and welcoming street presence, with soft rendered terracing, a custom mailbox pillar, layered planting, feature pots and a low-maintenance lawn area that keeps the frontage looking fresh throughout the year.

At the rear, the design focuses on outdoor living and everyday comfort β€” an extended alfresco area with 600x600 black tiles, a louvred pergola for adjustable shade, a cosy fire-pit corner with built-in bench seating, raised garden beds and a practical garden layout that connects beautifully around the home.

The planting palette brings softness, colour and texture through a mix of evergreen screening, flowering shrubs, fragrant plants, climbers and productive trees including citrus, guava and pomegranate.

A modern, practical and low-maintenance landscape designed for relaxed family living.
