Taller Benchtops: A Heightened Experience
As a cabinetmaker and a tall one at that, I’ve always been a bit perplexed by the standard kitchen bench height – a one-size-fits-all approach that, let’s be honest, doesn’t fit everyone.
Thankfully, times are changing! I’m seeing clients move towards more personalised kitchen design, with clients increasingly requesting benchtops tailored to their height.
It’s a no-brainer, really. Why would you design a kitchen around an arbitrary measurement? On average height seems to be settling around 90-100cm, which is much more comfortable for most people. It’s a small change that makes a huge difference in both comfort and functionality.
If you’re planning a bespoke kitchen, remember: it’s your space, make it work for you.

Friday Fill-in: Floating Fantastic! This week, we tackled bedside table blues. Our client was disappointed with store-bought options, so we got creative with these custom-built floating bedside tables. These floating beauties with drawers provide a minimalist option that is bespoke, budget-friendly and practical, especially for small spaces.

Each Friday, we'll share the smaller jobs we tackle for clients. These are often the unexpected challenges that pop up on-site, and we love finding creative solutions.

Kitchen makeover on a budget! 💰 Refacing your kitchen is around a third of the cost of a full renovation.
When Laurie booked a call with us, we talked through the measurements he supplied, and he showed us his current kitchen; we were able to give him the costs of refacing V's replacement.
The refacing transformed this generous-sized kitchen.
