A quick reminder about respect in business 👷♂️
When you ask a business for a quote, please understand what actually goes into it.
For us, it’s not just a number emailed over. It’s time spent travelling, fuel costs, site visits, measurements, conversations, planning, and then going away to produce a detailed, professional quote — the kind many building companies simply don’t bother with. We even send guidance notes and a brochure so everything is clear and transparent.
All of this is done before we’ve earned a single penny.
If we don’t hear back, we usually follow up after about a week — just to make sure the quote landed safely and to see if you have any questions.
Lately though, we’re being completely ghosted.
No reply.
No thanks.
No “we’ve chosen someone else.”
And that’s not business — that’s just bad manners.
We don’t expect to win every job. That’s normal. What we do expect is a simple message saying: “Thank you for your time, but we’ve decided to go another way.”
That’s it. Five seconds. Basic respect.
Please remember, behind every quote is a business owner who’s often given up evenings and time with their kids to come out, measure up, and prepare everything for free.
So here’s the ask:
If you’ve requested a quote, close the loop.
Because next time you come back to us, don’t be surprised if we politely decline.
Respect works both ways.
From what i hear this has become the NORM within the construction industry and it needs to change.
