Welcome to our Zen garden in Coburg. We have focused on creating a peaceful Japanese inspired courtyard for our client Sui Lynn.

The signature piece of this project is the circular deck perched in the corner of the garden. This provides an elevated space away from the direct sunlight where you can sit within the plants and enjoy the garden.

We were extremely pleased with the garden lighting that we were able to include with the project. The small warm spotlights dotted amongst the plants allow you to enjoy the garden into the night. This is controlled via the same mobile app as the irrigation. This allows you to have full control of the lighting and watering of your plants from anywhere in the world.

Thank you again to Sui Lynn for being such an accomodating client.

This project is the perfect example of what can be achieved in a small courtyard without blowing out the budget or timeline.

We were able to excavate the space, pour the slab, lay the crazy paving, install the planter area and plant the garden beds all within two weeks.

Thank you to Dani and Manel for being a pleasure to work with! We can’t wait to see how the veggies grow into the planters.

Welcome to our Japanese themed garden in Coburg. We are so happy to have been able to help Sui Lynn achieve her dream garden. We can’t thank her enough for being so welcoming and creating such a zen process for this design and build project.

We hope you enjoy this space and you can find out more in our upcoming post.

Shout out to for their help with the deck.

This is the balcony portion of our recently completed Brunswick project. A simple transformation from an empty space to a lush potted garden you can either sit in or look out and enjoy through the windows.

Here’s what we planted in them:

- Crassula ovata ‘Gollum’ (Finger Jade)
- Cycas revoluta (Sago Palm)
- Dichondra argentea ‘Silver Falls’ (Silver Kidney W**d)
- Dypsis lutescens (Golden Cane Palm)
- Mesembryanthemum hybrida ‘Yellow’ (Pigface)
- Philodendron xanadu (Winterbourn Philodendron)
- Senecio serpens (Blue Chalk Sticks)
- Strelitzia nicolai (Giant Bird of Paradise)

Loretta and Trent found Giddy Landscapes after noticing one of our work utes frequenting their street. They got chatting with their neighbour who happened to be one of our star employees Darcy. It wasn’t long before they got on the phone with us about wanting to book in this beautiful new landscape.

The clients took the lead designing this project while we helped guide the process, providing the planting plan and facilitated all the construction needs.

About the plants:
There were many different areas of the yard that received differing levels of sun. Many of the plants along the back of the property needed to be quite hearty and sun loving whereas many of the plants under the large tree on the right of the property needed to be quite shade tolerant.

Here is the full plant list:
Trees
- Acacia cognata ‘Lime Magik’
- Banksia integrifolia
- Waterhousea floribunda

Plants
- Asplenium australasicum
- Carex testacea
- Casuarina glauca
- Chrysocephalum apiculatum
- Heuchera micrantha ‘Palace Purple’
- Juncus usitatus
- Ligularia reniformis
- Liriope muscari ‘Evergreen Giant’
- Myoporum parvifolium
- Poa labillardieri
- Philodendron xanadu
- Senecio serpens
- Westringia fruticosa ‘Wynyabbie Gem’
- Viola hederacea

A huge thank you to Loretta and Trent for having us at there home! A pleasure as always. Thank you for being so neighbourly.

It was a pleasure to build this modern garden in Preston for James and Zara’s family. This garden was designed by and we were able to facilitate the construction of the front and backyard; this included:

- Excavating the spaces.
- Ensuring the correct falls and drainage throughout the property.
- Installing 5mm corten steel edging.
- The construction of three batten fences; including: a main front fence, bin screen and a beautiful Blackbutt timber wood store fence in the back yard.
- Installing a new letterbox.
- Building a raised brick planter box using left over bricks from the construction of the house extension.
- Lifting in the feature rocks and placing them throughout the garden beds.
- Spreading the pebble walkways.
- Laying the TifTough Turf.
- Installing concrete stepper walkways.
- Installing reo-mesh trellises for climbers to grow down the side of the property.

We were really pleased with the outcome of this project. The final result was a collaborative effort between the clients, the designer and our team. We were wrapped to come back and see how good the garden looked after it had all been planted and had time to grow in.

We just finished up this six week long project in Toorak. The highlights, we installed:

- These beautiful ivory travertine crazy paved steps and landing.
- A rounded ivory travertine crazy pave back step/patio area including steppers to the surrounding walkways.
- A full garden clear out.
- New lush planting for all garden beds including many large feature trees.
- A new tall fescue lawn area.
- Irrigation to all garden beds and turf areas.
- Fresh Surecrop compost/mulch for all garden beds.
- Sleek corten steel garden edging.
- Minor fence repairs.

We loved getting to be apart of this full property renovation. We are excited for the new tenants to call this lovely house and garden their new home.

This was our first project operating under our new name Giddy Landscapes. We loved building this tranquil courtyard for Lucy and Sam. They came to us with a design from and we were pleased to execute the garden while putting our own twist on some elements such as the bluestone patio layout.

This was our first time visiting the property in a few months and we were so happy to see how the plants had taken shape (especially how much the dichondra had filled out the patio in such a short amount of time). We gave the beds a top up of mulch that will help suppress w**ds and retain water for the summer period to come.

This lush garden has been planted out with:
- Acer palmatum (Japanese Maple) as a feature tree.
- Anenome hupehensis japonica ‘Alba’ (Windflower)
- Arthropodium cirratum (NZ Rock Lily)
- Cercis canadensis ‘Forest Pansy’ (Eastern Redbud) as additional features.
- Citrus limon ‘Eureka’ espaliered (Eureka Lemon) to climb along the new tension wire against the house.
- Citrus sinensis ‘Washington Navel’ espaliered (Navel Orange) to climb along the new tension against the house.
- Dichondra repens (Kidney Grass) to grow between the steppers and patio.
- Gardenia augusta ‘Florida’ (Gardenia)
- Helleborus ericsmithii ‘Ice Breaker Max’ (Hellebore)
- Hydrangea quercifolia (Oakleaf Hydrangea)
- Iris germanica (Bearded Iris)
- Pittosporum tobira ‘Miss Muffet’ (Dwarf Pittosporum)
- Salvia nemerossa ‘Cardonna’ (Woodland Sage)
- Trachelospermum asiaticum (Asian Star Jasmine) as a ground cover amongst the garden beds.

A huge thank you to Lucy and Sam for having us at their home to build this wonderful garden. We are looking forward to seeing them next time.

This coastal entrance garden we completed in May is going strong. The eucalyptus mulch is helping keep the w**ds at bay as it is a natural w**d suppressant. We installed drip line to all of the plants keeping them discreetly watered throughout the year. Here’s hoping the carefully placed Giddy rocks will catch someone’s eye when the property goes up for sale.

This is not your typical Giddy job. We have stepped aside from our classic residential landscaping to lend a hand to . Together we have laid this 2000 brick path/seating area at Malvern East Primary School.

This path will be added to in stages over separate school holiday periods. This first section will become a secluded outdoor seating area for the teachers to relax.
