At $150 off, this is my pick for a budget priced bass which I've even test played on stage. I've sold a few to people to record, and one to a gent who travels Oz with a Johnny Cash tribute band.
Here's the last of Tokai Bass Guitar deals available from over 30 that I'd originally ordered in and there's now only one in your choice of Sunburst or Butterscotch with Vintage White now sold out. The P51 ticks the boxes with solid Alder body, nice neck, great balance and Alnico Pickup (as discovered by me) with enough punch to cut through the mix and let 'em know you're holding it all together, and are $429 (were $579). Here's what may be one of the last Shoreline Guitars Australia beasties for a while. Note that I set the switch at the rear to minimise aggressive players knocking the top hat off the switch. What a clever idea! This one has my Lonestar Alnico Pickups, compensated brass saddles, and comes with a Shoreline Tweed Hardcase all for $1199.
The guitar body was painted in Nambour, headstock etched in Brisbane, pickups by my guy, and all put together here in Mapleton.

You may recall that in 2024 I refurbished a pile of guitars that you and I donated to go out on Care Outreach's annual Christmas Run to needy families in remote areas of the bush.
I couldn't undertake such a feat for Christmas 2025 as my torn shoulder (rotator cuff) wouldn't have survived all of the fret polishing and saddle shaving.
We are aiming to be on-board for Chrissy 2026, and the first donation has arrived, so feel free to see what you've got that could be recycled to bring some joy. I'd rather be getting these done now than being under pressure in December, so please see what you have that's worth doing something with.

Lorenzo Tech Tip: It's commonplace now that I'm no longer selling guitars, for a customer to bring his brand new acoustic guitar straight around to get it setup, but can I encourage you to let it sit at your house for a week before bringing it in, so it has time to respond to the local climate?
Each new guitar that arrives in Qld from all parts of the manufacturing world, goes straight into an airconditioned shop where it is in a controlled but drier climate than your home, so it's only going to grow a higher action once it's in your care.
Here's some of many examples of an action that was ok at the shop, but grew at the owner's place before coming in for a bone saddle upgrade. Look at the difference in height...

I get a couple of messages each week asking; How much to fix an electrical problem, or to fix a buzzing sound? There's similar inane questions that appear, and of course they cant be answered properly. They don't even tell what guitar it is, or maybe it's their car or home that has electrical issues, who knows?
This is frustrating and a grave concern to me because it seems that deteriorating communication skills are on the rise. Would you like those people to be responsible for your medical care in your later years?
At the end of the day, like my venerable doctor, I mightn't be able to take on new customers soon anyway. Yes, we're nearly full.

As it's Friday, it is time for that micro-dose of humour to get you in the mood for a great weekend.
I can't abide this sort of thing and am glad to be almost out of selling, so that I can focus on the workshop instead, and avoid listening to this useless and annoying stuff.
Most things don't bother me, and I can even put up with a poor rendition of Stairway to heaven, but not the Seinfeld thing... anything but that!
