Archisoul has added educational architecture to our increasingly diverse portfolio with this new independent school in Sydney’s West.

Gobind Sarvar Primary School in Mount Druitt is the first school we’ve designed and it will be Australia’s first Sikh school when it opens next year.

In keeping with Archisoul’s sustainability focus, this project is an excellent example of adaptive reuse: the practice of repurposing an existing building for a new function beyond its original design intention. It’s more than a renovation. It’s a reimagining. Adaptive reuse seeks to preserve a building’s core structure and materials while making it fit for a new purpose. It avoids the waste and energy consumption entailed in demolition and new construction while extending the life cycle of our existing built environment.

In this case, we had to completely redesign the internal layout of an old RTA office to produce a compliant Class 9b building that also meets the spatial and functional standards required for a primary school.

We are delighted to announce that we obtained DA approval in record time, organised the Construction Certificate asap, and building works are now underway.

Soft and subtle. Interior design trends are increasingly embracing warm neutrals and an organic palette.

Our recently completed renovation project in Allambie Heights is a case in point.

Timber, natural stone and muted hues soften the angular lines of this mid-century home, complementing the gentle, sculptural curves found within its reimagined internal spaces.

Outside, rendered walls and new tiling in limestone tones bring a fresh, contemporary feel, building on the home's original Mid-Century modernist design.

This project is a great example of how Archisoul's interior design expertise. Our approach seamlessly integrates emerging trends into a home's essential character to produce functional designs of timeless elegance.

🏘✍ If you have a steep block on the Northern Beaches, you already know most architects hesitate. Jo Gillies and the team at Archisoul Architects have spent nearly 30 years designing extraordinary homes on exactly the kind of sites others walk away from.

But what makes an Archisoul home truly different goes beyond technical expertise. Jo's design philosophy is rooted in Sacred Geometry and biomimetic principles — the art of applying the same proportional laws found throughout the natural world to the built environment. The Golden Mean. The Ancient Cubit. The ratios encoded in a nautilus shell, a leaf, a coastline. These are the same principles that make the Parthenon feel timeless, that make certain spaces instinctively feel right before you can explain why.
Jo applies them to every home she designs — which is why Archisoul clients consistently describe walking into their finished home and feeling something shift. The light feels right. The proportions feel right. The space feels like it was made for them. Because in a very real sense, guided by the patterns of nature itself, it was.
Jo is one of a small number of architects in NSW to hold Class 2 registration under the Design and Building Practitioners Act — qualifying Archisoul to design and oversee multi-storey residential buildings, duplexes, and complex alterations to heritage-listed properties. In 2014, Jo presented at TEDx Sydney on design philosophy. In 2022, an Archisoul heritage restoration in Manly was featured in House and Garden magazine.

Archisoul has joined the ranks of internationally recognised architecture practices, winning Silver at the 2026 Better Future World Design Awards.

These global awards recognise innovative, sustainable designs in a range of categories, including international projects designed by Australian architects.

Our multi-award winning entry, RUH House, a family home prototype designed for the United Arab Emirates’ House of the Future competition, claimed a Silver trophy at the Sydney Design Awards last year before winning Gold at the 2025 Middle East Design Awards.

RUH House was an unusual project for Archisoul as it is crafted to meet the specific circumstances of Emirati families living in Dubai. The most challenging of these is the harsh climate. Summer temperatures regularly reach 50C with 90 per cent humidity, making Dubai one of the world’s greatest per capita electricity consumers to power residential air conditioning.

Archisoul caught the judges' attention with this ultra energy-efficient, culturally sensitive design. RUH House incorporates an internal garden "oasis" and a modernised version of Dubai's traditional wind towers, significantly reducing the internal temperature while anchoring the home in Dubai's Bedouin heritage.

The result is a contextually appropriate, high-performance home designed for modern living.

We're thrilled to see another of our modern coastal designs, N&H House – Manly, featured in the July 2026 issue of magazine.

This landmark Manly residence merges smart home technology with exquisite detailing to forge a new benchmark in beach house luxury.

The result of an extensive rebuild, the house was completely redesigned by to create a state-of-the-art family home as liveable as it is beautiful.

Handmade tiles, custom joinery and natural materials lend it warmth and character, while structural details like the sandstone-clad internal lift future-proof the home, providing convenience now while also ensuring accessibility in the long term.

Archisoul reimagines mid-century modern house design with its most recent completed project, J&M House in Allambie.

This 1960s brick veneer residence has been strategically redesigned to lean into its mid-century modern styling.

A big new balcony provides space for outdoor entertaining and admiring the sweeping views, while white render lends the home a sleek minimalist profile.

Inside, skylights bathe the open-plan space in natural light. Gentle curves, stone benches, light wood joinery and a warm, neutral palette invoke the home's 1960s vintage.

M&D California Bungalow, Artarmon.

This bungalow had beautiful period charm but a dark, cramped layout and years of wear from the rental market. The brief was to modernise the home, retain its character, and increase living space — without building up or extending into the garden.

Our solution was a split-level design that unlocks the potential of the existing footprint. By extending the living areas into the undercroft and introducing an open-plan Kitchen/Living/Dining space with extensive joinery, every square metre now works harder.

A north-facing courtyard within the building envelope draws natural light deep into the home, while high ceilings, clerestory windows and deep eaves balance sunlight, comfort and energy performance year-round.

The result is a revitalised, light-filled home that feels larger, calmer and far more functional — without increasing the building’s footprint.
