Stone cladding might look simple once it’s finished, but there’s a fair bit of precision that goes into getting it right.

First, the surface needs to be properly prepared so the stone has a suitable base to bond or fix to.

From there, each piece is positioned and secured carefully, working across the wall while maintaining the right alignment, spacing and overall pattern.

The stone itself often needs to be selected, cut and positioned piece by piece to work with the shape of the wall and create a natural, consistent finish.

Once everything is in place, the joints and surface are finished off to complete the look.

It’s a slow, detailed process, but that attention to detail is what makes the finished result work. 👌

After sharing the Boy From The Bush story over the last few weeks, I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to watch the videos, listen to my story and follow along. And thank you to our clients, suppliers, friends and everyone who has supported JRL along the way.

Growing up in the bush, working on properties and learning from the people around me, I never could have imagined where that journey would eventually lead.

Somehow, all these years later, I get to wake up every day and do something I genuinely love, surrounded by a great team and some pretty incredible people.

I don’t take that for granted.

There have obviously been plenty of challenges along the way, but there have also been so many moments that make you stop and think, how lucky am I to be doing this?

Seeing a project come together. Watching a client enjoy their new space for the first time. Seeing kids running around a school landscape we’ve helped create. Or simply looking back at something our team has built and knowing we all played a part in it.

That’s what makes it worthwhile.

And I have to give a huge thank you to our team as well.

They’re the ones out there in the heat, the rain, the early mornings and the long days, putting their skills and effort into every project. Their passion, dedication and pride in what they do is a huge part of what JRL is today.

After 26 years, I’m still excited about what’s ahead.

There are plenty more landscapes to build, plenty more stories to tell, and hopefully plenty more beautiful memories to create along the way.
