📣 A LITTLE UPDATE FROM OUR SMALL BUSINESS 💚💙

As a small, family-owned and operated business, we truly appreciate your patience, understanding and support from majority of people.

Unfortunately, there is a small minority who seem to believe it is acceptable to become abusive, complain or speak negatively about our business simply because we haven’t been able to provide their quote as quickly as they would like, despite keeping them informed of the delays.

Over the past month, we have been experiencing employee shortages, which has meant Troy has spent much of his time stuck onsite and back on the tools to keep projects moving to ensure we continue delivering the high-quality workmanship we pride ourselves on.

While managing our projects onsite, Troy has also continued attending onsite meetings, completing measure-ups and inspections, and trying to find time to prepare quotes in between everything else. As you can imagine, this has meant our quote turnaround times have been longer than usual.

Unfortunately, staff shortages are one of those challenges that can be difficult to control, and we have been doing our absolute best to manage everything as well as possible over the past month.

THE GOOD NEWS! 🙌

We now have a second crew together, which has freed up some much-needed time for Troy to get back into quoting this week! 💪

We know many of you are eager to receive your quotes and get your projects underway, and we want to assure you that we haven’t forgotten about you. We are working hard to get through each enquiry as quickly as possible we would much rather take the time to prepare your quote properly and deliver quality work than rush the process or cut corners.

We also ask for a little extra patience over the coming weeks, as I underwent a major operation last week and the office will have restricted office hours while I recover.

I am slowly working my way through the enquiries. If I am unavailable when you call, please leave a message, and I will get back to you.

Running a small business comes with its challenges, and sometimes life reminds us that our health and family must come first. While we remain committed to providing quality workmanship and reliable service, I also need to allow myself the time to recover properly.

RETAINING WALL DRAINAGE — WHAT’S BEHIND THE WALL MATTERS!

A recent client reached out to our team to complete a retaining wall project that had been started by another landscaper but unfortunately wasn’t completed correctly.

When we inspected the wall, there were no drainage outlets, drainage discharge points or rear drainage installed to allow water to escape from behind the wall.

Our team had to core drill drainage outlets through the retaining wall to create suitable discharge points for the agg drain, allowing water to freely exit the drainage system from behind the wall.

💧 Why is drainage so important?

One of the most critical parts of a retaining wall is actually the work you DON’T see.

Water can build up behind a retaining wall and create significant hydrostatic pressure. A correctly designed and installed drainage system helps collect and safely discharge this water, reducing pressure on the wall and helping protect the structure.

This is why we believe the work below the ground is just as important — if not more important — than what you see above ground.

A retaining wall isn’t simply about installing blocks, sleepers or posts. The footings, drainage, backfill, reinforcement and construction methods all play an important role in creating a properly constructed retaining system.

We’ve taken on a full landscaping transformation, turning this yard into a functional, finished outdoor space — with plenty of work happening both above and below ground.

CORRECTING PREVIOUS WORK
Part of this project involved correcting an existing retaining wall constructed by a previous landscaper that was not completed to the required standards.

Our team is rectifying the drainage and waterproofing to ensure the retaining wall has the appropriate drainage system and water management in place.

This is a great reminder that with structural landscaping, what you see above the ground is only part of the job.

To help us better manage our time and keep up with demand, effective immediately, we are updating our complimentary quoting process.

✅ FREE QUOTE INCLUDES:
• Up to 30 minutes onsite for your initial consultation
• 1 written quotation based on the agreed scope of works

⏱️ ADDITIONAL ONSITE TIME
If your onsite consultation runs longer than 30 minutes, additional time will be charged at $50 per additional 30 minutes.

🔄 RE-QUOTES
If you request changes to the original quotation, including changes to products, materials or the scope of works, a $75 requote fee will apply.
