What better way to tackle this heat with a brand new cold room build?

A fridgie spends most of their time in the hot parts, to make it cold. Spare a thought for our team in this heat, building a brand new room for the team at The Factory, Byrne's Pies Factory. Don't worry though, there is still a great food production if you're hungry!

Keep Hydrated!

Keep an eye on your mates, furry ones too. This heat can knock kids, animals and the elderly for a six.

Water is probably the best way, although you do you....

Keep an eye on your fridge and freezers that you may keep in the garage, shed or anywhere that may struggle with this heat (minimal air flow doesn't help either). Some units may pass their recommended ambient temperatures, which can impact their efficiency. This isn't an ideal mix with units that haven't been serviced in a while. Just a heads up to keep an eye on them.

Bossman has some plans to keep the boys busy...
While there has been a slight reprieve from the heat, the team haven't slowed down.
Some of our local customers are ramping up to build some big cold and freezer rooms to suit their commercial needs. There are a number of rooms scheduled in the coming weeks, while we navigate breakdowns and servicing along the way.

Nothing like a semi to supply more panel.

These guys know boats... and by boats, I mean cold rooms.

Do we build custom Cold rooms?

One of our Customers worked with the Bossman and worked out a plan to suit the space, and needs of his stock. A couple of Semi's or two later with Cold room panel.... Impressive work knocking this over in a couple of days.

We are proud of our boys working together to juggle big cold room builds, breakdowns and ongoing works. Well done team, keep up the good work!

*It's a bit hot today!*

If you haven't said that in the last few days, are you even in Mackay?

Our team specialize in Commercial Refrigeration and Commercial Air Conditioning. Sorry to repeat the Commercial part, although with the crazy demands our team have faced in the last few years, we have had to avoid any residential work. Sorry guys!

We work with our local Pubs, clubs, restaurants and shops around town. We try to get to our Customers breakdowns to avoid any issues with trade. I'm lucky to be in the Air con taking general calls, but our technicians are battling the heat today. Definitely earning their beers.

If you see a tradie today, whether a Fridgie, Plumber, Lecky or the like... please be kind. They're sweating and trying their best to concentrate while fighting off the heat.

*Filters*

This is the best time of year to look up. Check your batteries in your smoke alarms (or test if powered through 240V) AND - clean those filters in your air cons.

Have your Air con turned off and lift the front of your indoor unit. They slide out, give them a rinse, let them dry and slide back in your Air con.

Our team at Mackay Refrig aren't offering residential servicing (our tech's are working with our commercial customers to keep them cool), but we want to offer a reminder that there are guys where this is their bread and butter. But, we do recommend checking those filters as a heads up!

While we work, there are the lucky ones who get to enjoy either the brief trip away or the dream of travelling. We receive a number of calls requesting our services for these beauties, although our team are under the pump with commercial grade refrigeration and air conditioning.
We're sorry, we can't help - but! Maybe try contacting your caravan dealer and ask their recommended service agent local in Mackay.

This time of year, our team are busy carrying out much needed servicing to keep all the gear keeping the beers cold.

Tip - Good time of year to for you to clean those filters of yours though.

Congratulations to Amanda and Mark for opening their 4th local store in Andergrove!

The boys at Mackay Refrig worked closely with the MKC Shopfit Team, and we chucked up some duct work and a new 'you-beaut' cold room for all the ingredients to make the best Pizza's around.

Well done team, time for some Pizza!

The team at Mackay Refrig are all Locals! We are proud of the team who wear the Mackay Refrig Logo.

We recieve a number of calls where new customers are looking for a cheap cold room. We get that every cent matters, especially what we have all been through the last few years.

Buying local means that we get our climate. We build our customers cold and freezer rooms to withstand our temperatures. Unfortunately, another local purchased a budget room from down south. Looks amazing when it pulls up.
Only, it didn't last.

This particular unit didn't quite make 3 years and now, this customer is spending more than what he would of if built specially for him, by us. The unit on the cold room he purchased is (sorry, was) running half the capacity that we would recommend.

Cheap isn't always the cheapest option.
