MAINTENANCE PROGRAMS IN PARADISE

Some of the team headed north to work at Douglas Shire in early February to assist with meter maintenance prior to their upcoming billing cycle. Some of our customers are feeling the impacts of higher than usual meter faults, any assistance from us is always greatly appreciated.

When they say, “it’s where the reef meets the rainforest,” we have to agree. It’s a stunning drive between Cairns and Port Douglas. So, if you haven’t been to that part of the world, we strongly suggest it, although the team did mention a winter visit might be a bit more comfortable.

COMMUNITY GIFTING PROGRAM IN ACTION – PINNACLE CRICKET CLUB

As part of our ongoing Community Gifting Program, we are proud to continue to support Pinnacle Cricket Club. The Pioneer Valley based club is going from strength to strength with player participation numbers increasing each year. Their on-field performances are improving with reserve grade making the final. This gift is part of the program contribution from work completed for Mackay Regional Council. It’s great to support local organisations.

Deadline extended for installing telemetry devices for irrigators in the Queensland Murray Darling Basin!

Irrigators in the following Queensland Murray Darling Basin (QMDB) water management areas now have until 1 December 2026 to install telemetry devices on their non-urban, surface water meters:

💧 Lower Balonne
💧 Condamine and Balonne
💧 Upper Condamine
💧 Condamine and Balonne Tributaries
💧 Moonie
💧 Stanthorpe

This extra time will help irrigators prepare for the new water-measurement requirements.

Telemetry devices help make water management easier by providing:

📈 Real-time insights – access your water-meter data in near real time (updated every 15 minutes) to support informed business decisions.

🔧 Streamlined operations – fewer on-site visits to check measurements, helping simplify your workflow.

✔️ Reliable, transparent data – more accurate information to help you self-manage water take and meet your water entitlement conditions.

A subsidy is available to help eligible water users meet their telemetry requirements, covering the cost of installation and the first 12 months of data services and maintenance.

If you’re in another QMDB water management area, your telemetry requirements have a later deadline of 1 December 2027.

For more information on telemetry devices and how to arrange the installation of a subsidised device, visit: https://www.business.qld.gov.au/industries/mining-energy-water/water/measurement/telemetry-devices.
