2025 got off to a great start a couple of weeks ago with a good marketing strategy of getting Sandland Electrical stubby holders into all the right hands… including Jon Stevens from Noiseworks 😆

Wishing everyone all the best for 2025

If you’re like us personally and the many thousands around our state that got smashed by the weather over the last 24 hours and lost power at some point, in particular yesterday… you really need to start thinking about your fridges and freezers and whether it’s time to play out a contingency plan for food and drinks that need to stay cold and or frozen.

The reality for us is that our power went off around 4pm yesterday, since that time we got smashed with roughly 12 hours of intermittent lightning, thunder, rain and gusty winds… these conditions have made it impossible for SA Power Networks to get their, already undermanned crews out to assess and begin fixing things.

This ultimately means that unlike previous blackouts of a few hours, we may possibly be without power for potentially another 12-24 hours depending on the damage and priority locations.

Fridges and freezers will unfortunately not keep things cold and or frozen over that period, even if you can limit the opening of them. I’d highly recommend either getting hold of a generator and or think about getting eskies full of ice and or off loading food and drinks to family and friends who maybe have power still.

This is just a message to help people with some information about the situation. If you’re sitting around expecting power to be on in the next hour or so, it just may not be possible for everyone.

*** And please be aware of power coming back on to areas that have flooded water around power cords, switches, powerpoints, switchboard etc! ***

All the best guys, stay safe!

This is brilliant 😆

To all those in effected areas from this crazy weather, in particular those in the Loxton area, be aware there is power lines down all around the place and a lot of other damage.

This means you may potentially wake up to a damaged, wet building, or perhaps a work place which has been flooded or had water ingress into different areas.

If and when power gets restored to your building, please be aware there could be potential electrical hazards with all the water.

I recommend that if you’ve experienced any damage and are unsure of the electrical situation please either turn off your main switch at your switch board or call in your local sparky to check it out.

Please be careful folks 👍

This is great information and advice for all households, especially coming into some hot weather 🥵

This is great information and advice for all households, especially coming into some hot weather 🥵

If you answered C to last nights quiz, you would be correct!!!

Heating and cooling can be responsible for up to 40% of your electricity bill. Run your heating and cooling appliances between 18° and 21° in winter and 24° and 27° in summer for maximum efficiency. Every degree higher or lower adds up to 10% to the running cost.

This tip will come in handy next week as the temperature heats up!

What a year 2020 has been! Hopefully this little project brings some light to the end of the year... for the town of Loxton anyway.

Unfortunately no Loxton Lights Up Festival tonight but it has been the date set for me to turn on the feature lights at Clark’s Laneway. Great work to all involved in this project!

To all my loyal customers, friends, family and work colleagues, thankyou all for your ongoing support in 2019. It has been a ripper year for Sandland Electrical with some exciting things happening next year.

Unfortunately I’m knocking off a bit earlier than anticipated due to requiring a knee reconstruction. This comes about after a football injury earlier this year.

So I’ll be putting my feet up for the next month or two and will hopefully be back on tools mid February/March. Thanks to all my customers who are already aware of my scenario, I appreciate your understanding and support. For those needing work done next year, please be patient and I apologise in advance for any inconvenience.

From my family to yours, enjoy a safe and fun festive season. Cheers!

It’s that time of year, where I feel like I’m averaging about 20 ceiling fan installs a week!

Whether your simply making a room more comfortable in the heat or also trying to add some extra style to a room, ceiling fans come in all shapes, sizes and budgets!

This customer with a clear sense of style, has chosen the Mercator Eagle 65inch ceiling fan... and hasn’t it finished off the room perfectly!

Both ‘Mercator’ and ‘Brilliant’ are two major brands of lighting and fans that Sandland Electrical can get through wholesalers and they have a wide range of options to suit all households and budgets, with excellent warranties!

Check out their range online and I can price up any option, and by supplying the fan I can offer any follow up services on the products.

Well it’s been a while since I’ve posted anything due to being so busy, but I thought this was a good time to jump back in because just like that Sandland Electrical has smashed out its first year!!!

What a year it’s been, starting from scratch with not much work lined up, wife on maternity leave and two kids under 4... what was I thinking?!

Taking work where ever I could get it, travelling the country side, being away from my family. I took on jobs that were way beyond anything I’d done before and genuinely gave things a red hot crack!

The hard work has paid off, as I’m now busy with mainly just local jobs, filling my calendar with plenty of work and managing to balance it with quality family time and social life.

I’ve been busy with more solar, wiring sheds, upgrading lights, relocating meterboxes, sponsoring footy clubs and now embarking on the biggest renovation I’ve ever been involved in... and pretty excited about it too.

Massive thanks to all those who have supported Sandland Electrical so far, from my great customers, my family and friends, and to my previous bosses and other tradies who have given so much valuable advice and support along the journey so far! But biggest thanks goes to my two little kiddies and my wife Lori for allowing me to do what I’ve done so far!

Looking forward to the next chapter 👍
