STRUCTURED WORKPLACE LEARNING: JACK PARKER

BSSC Year 12 student, Jack Parker, recently had an opportunity to gain hands-on experience, undertaking Structured Workplace Learning (SWL) with BLR Construction.
This placement saw Jack assisting with the fit-out of an existing building in Epsom, bringing an insight into the day-to-day work involved in commercial construction and the coordination required between different trades on a worksite.
During his placement, Jack completed a range of practical tasks including using a hammer drill, cutting materials, and preparing work areas ready for other trades to begin their work. Ensuring he followed workplace OHS requirements and safe work practices, reinforced the importance of safety, organisation and teamwork on a building site.
Currently studying VET Building & Construction and VET Engineering as part of his Year 12 program, Jack was able to put some of the skills and knowledge he has developed through his studies into practice in a real workplace.
As well as practical skills, experiences like this provide students with valuable industry exposure while helping them build confidence and a better understanding of future career pathways.

Central Deborah Gold Mine | External Fence

A new chapter for an iconic Bendigo landmark.

The external fence at Central Deborah Gold Mine is the result of a collaborative project between Central Deborah Gold Mine and BLR Provincial Construction, bringing together heritage, craftsmanship and contemporary design.

The fence features rich Red Gum timber boards, weathering Corten steel panels and custom laser-cut detailing, creating a distinctive feature that sits comfortably within the character of the historic mine precinct.

From the natural variation of the timber to the way the Corten steel will continue to weather and evolve, every element has been carefully considered to complement the story of Central Deborah Gold Mine.

A great project to be part of, and another example of thoughtful design and quality craftsmanship coming together in Bendigo.

The beauty of this courthouse has always been overhead.

The new wall finishes throughout the courthouse have been carefully selected to complement the existing heritage timber ceiling, allowing one of the building's most striking original features to truly shine.

As the transformation continues, the existing timber ceiling remains the hero of the space, with its rich character and craftsmanship preserving the building's unique heritage identity.

🏗️ Golden Square Recreation Reserve | Nearing Completion

As we approach the completion of the Golden Square Recreation Reserve redevelopment, we’re excited to showcase one of the project’s standout features, the impressive architectural verandah.

Designed by E+ Architecture, this striking outdoor space features warm timber panels and bold geometric forms, creating a gathering place for players, members, and spectators. Overlooking the oval, the verandah provides the perfect spot to watch football and cricket matches while offering year-round shelter and comfort.

The BLR team has taken pride in delivering quality craftsmanship and attention to detail creating a space to serve the Golden Square community for years to come.

We’re looking forward to sharing the completed project with everyone very soon.
