WARNING: There have been an increased number of complaints regarding scams involving unlicensed locksmiths. The scam involves an unlicensed locksmith advertising a very low call-out fee.

When the locksmith attends, they partially dismantle (usually with considerable damage) the lock and then demand extra payments before they will fix it.

Be cautious, sometimes when prices are "too good to be true" they probably are. Ensure you research a locksmith thoroughly to ensure that you go to a reputable locksmith who is fully licensed to carry out the work.

Always asked to see their licence
Always asked for a fixed or worse case price.
Dont pay if you get given an invoice for this
amount if it is more than the quoted price.
