Somewhere along the way, we agreed this was normal:
decades of compliance, exhaustion, permission-seeking —
for a small window of “freedom” at the end.
I’m not angry about it.
I’m just no longer willing to accept it without question.
There are other ways to live.
This is me choosing one.
