A little bit of Melbournes plumbing history. Walking to a job in port Melbourne this morning. Stumbled across this plaque in the footpath. Noting that this site was the first in Melbourne to be connected to the mains sewer back in 1887. Not that old really. Before then , nightmen on horse drawn carriages would come around and dispose of the waste. Ultimately ending up in the Yarra River. Crazy to think that this was only 127 years ago.

We located this damaged pipe with our camera jet and rather than digging up the clients driveway and replacing the piping (which would be thousands $$).

We were able to do a pipe reline.

This involves our team inserting a setting material into the pipe and relining it from the inside.

It’s a great solution that will last a long time, is a fraction of the cost & also kept the clients driveway usable during works 🙌
