Sometimes, the simpler the better. This client decided to go with a natural satin/matte finish for the pair of American oak treads to their mono-stringer staircases. The contrast between natural timber and white walls to the black steel and aluminum accents throughout the home really makes everything stand out. Polishing all complete, now ready for glass balustrade and LED light install. We can’t wait to see the end results for this one!

Carefully curated, perfectly finished.

At Sydney Polishing Co, we work with the client directly to formulate a colour that suits the vision for their new home. Originally the client asked to match to their flooring, but in this instance that was not an achievable outcome. Hardwood naturally has brown/pink/yellow tones and cannot be completely neutralized to be perfectly grey whilst also showing the exquisite grain that they paid for in the selection of this incredible American Oak. So rather than try to make it as grey as possible, we came up with the idea to make it a total contrast using Black stain. This then tired the stair treads in with the stringer, window frames and black hardware throughout the home and not introducing new colours to their carefully curated selections.

If something is not possible like in this instance, we will work with our clients to find a solution that still upholds their vision.

We carefully stained and polished this set of stair treads and risers to achieve a rich, refined finish, with the colour specifically selected to complement and match the internal joinery throughout this new home.

From the initial colour selection through to the final polish, every detail was considered to create a cohesive and bespoke result — allowing the staircase to feel like an intentional part of the home’s overall design.

Another job all but ready for handover! Once again the guys at did an incredible job on the installation of this staircase. The clients wanted a striking Jet black stain look so that’s what we gave them. This stair is the centerpiece to this beautiful home and we did our absolute best to uphold that vision.
