Welcome to 6tyº Based in Launceston, Tasmania. Welcome to 6ty°. More information about us and the work we have completed is located at www.6ty.com.au

A name forged from the 3 original founding corner stones of our business; Architecture, Surveying and Engineering. These corner stones continue to each represent our business practice and interestingly the 60 degrees within an equilateral triangle, regarded as the strongest of all geometric shapes. We have a long history of providing quality service to our clients in all disciplines and would love the opportunity to talk to you about your building or surveying needs.

From an idea to the 6ty° we know today.

What started as a small team with a vision to create a multidisciplinary design consultancy has grown into a team of 33, bringing together architecture, engineering, surveying and planning under one roof.

Chester’s vision laid the foundations for 6ty° and the values that continue to shape how we work today with trust, honesty, integrity, quality and a genuine commitment to the Tasmanian communities we work within.

A lot has changed since those early days, but that connection to Tasmania and our purpose remains at the heart of what we do.

Here’s to continuing to build on those foundations.

Meet George, our CEO.

For George Walker, leading 6ty° is about building on what already makes the business strong. Our people, our values and the trust our clients place in us.

His focus is simple: support our team, continue strengthening our client relationships and ensure 6ty° keeps delivering meaningful work for communities across Tasmania.

With a strong respect for where 6ty° has come from and plenty of enthusiasm for where we’re heading, George is excited to lead the team through its next chapter.

Another project taking shape in Tasmania.

Stage 1 of St Leonards Rise is complete, marking an exciting milestone for this growing residential community.

For us, projects like this are about more than developing land. They’re about creating opportunities for Tasmanians to build homes, establish communities and put down roots.

We’re proud to have played a part in bringing Stage 1 to life and helping create more residential land for Tasmania’s future.

A new chapter for 6ty°

As of 1 July 2026 we’re proud to announce that George Walker has stepped into the role of CEO at 6ty°.

From humble beginnings to the multidisciplinary business we are today, 6ty° has always been shaped by great people and strong values – trust, honesty, integrity, quality, and a genuine commitment to our clients, our team and the Tasmanian communities we work within.

George’s appointment is a natural continuation of that journey. We acknowledge Chester, who established the foundations of 6ty°, and Joel Wallace, whose leadership as CEO for much of the past 15 years has helped guide the business through significant growth and change.

For George, taking on the role is both a privilege and an opportunity to lead 6ty° into its next chapter alongside our Directors and team, respecting where we’ve come from while continuing to evolve as a strong, progressive and proudly Tasmanian business.

We’re proud of what’s been built, grateful to everyone who has played a part, and genuinely excited about what comes next.

Congratulations, George!

Project Vision | New Horizons Sports Centre

The New Horizons Sports Centre was envisioned as a vibrant home for sport, recreation and community life in Tasmania.

Developed several years ago to support a funding application, the design explored how adaptable courts, spectator facilities and spaces for learning, fitness and gathering could create an inclusive destination for the wider community.

While the project will not be proceeding, the vision reflects our approach to creating thoughtful, flexible spaces that bring people together and support participation at every level.

Project Highlight | Marist Regional College Harcombe Centre

More than a sports facility, the Marist Regional College Harcombe Centre was designed as a place for movement, learning and connection.

Its flexible layout supports everything from daily school activities and training through to major sporting events and community gatherings, while natural light and strong links to the surrounding fields create a welcoming sense of place.

A lasting investment in students, sport and the wider community.
