The life update.... that nobody asked for 😝
We post the finished jobs, we post the amazing client testimonials so we thought we'd share a bit of what we've been up to behind the scenes.
Over the past couple of months things have been a little hectic - we've moved house (for third time in 12months), sold our Cromwell Street property, moved all of our business storage into one place and launched our brand new website. James has also been on site full time which means most of our free time is spent discussing work and what we need to catch up on.
Our biggest focus outside of work has been Charlie (our baby). He recently had to have spinal surgery which was incredibly stressful. He had an emergency trip to Hobart which just happened to be the same day we were moving house - timing! Thankfully, he's doing a lot better now, with a lot of rehab (and Lenny staying at my Dads place 😢) he should be mostly back to normal soon. We're SO relieved.
At the same time, we've had three client homes on the go, a handover, client meetings, quoting, planning, managing our Airbnbs and all the things that come with running a small business. Also trying to stay somewhat healthy and have what resembles a social life 😅 We did get away for my birthday (before Charlie hurt himself) which was so much fun and we can ALWAYS make time for a wine and/or scones 😉
Sometimes it probably looks like we're "just building houses", but there's always a lot happening behind the scenes too, most of which doesn't get shown on social media. Like most small business owners, work and life tend to blend together and there's more 'downs' than there are 'ups' sometimes (i.e. CASHFLOW! If you know, you know haha) No complaints though! We know we're lucky to do what we do.
We feel like we're finally getting back into a routine and are excited for what's ahead. We've got some amazing projects progressing and as always, we're super grateful for our incredible clients (current and new). We're keen to share more of what we're up to and just wanted to share the REALITY of having a small business, not just the highlights.
