This mature Acacia melanoxylon (Blackwood) had significant decay and poor canopy structure, with its close proximity to the owner’s home increasing the potential consequences of failure.

Our team safely removed the existing swing structure before carefully dismantling the tree, managing the risks while protecting the surrounding property.

A Before and after of Recent Canopy Reduction done on a Quercus palustris.

By selectively reducing elongated limbs and removing competitive growth, we’ve improved structure, enhanced form, and set the tree up for more controlled, sustainable growth moving forward.

Situated in a tight domestic setting, the canopy had extended into neighbouring properties — this reduction not only improves clearance but also maintains the tree’s natural shape without over-pruning.

Removal of a Cupressus Sp. displaying sudden and rapid dieback. With tight access to the work zone and a ledge gap separating the landing area from the tree trunk, this removal required careful planning, controlled rigging and efficient material handling throughout. Recently we have had the pleasure to be a part of a research project in the Yarra Ranges. We were installing artificial hollows and nest boxes for the greater gliders. These species are endangered, with the new installations we aim to increase the population within the area. We worked on the Eucalyptus regnans species along side of experienced ecologists to understand the requirements of the greater glider habitat. This includes the specific size of each hollow, and the location to near by roads and walk ways. Solar powered cameras were installed with motion detection to monitor the hollows to hopefully capture a successful outcome. Thank you to everyone involved, It was an honour to be a part of this project and look forward to more experiences like this in the near by future.

Pruning deadwood from this Narrow Leafed Ash, (Fraxinus angustifolia) to monitor the Dieback rates. Dieback is common within the Fraxinus species, but with the correct management plans these trees can be retained for many years to come.
