Had the privilege of working on this circa 1838 homestead this week. To put into perspective, Launceston was settled in the year 1806, making it one of the oldest cities in Australia. Upon arriving I was puzzled as to exactly what the timber could be. After completing the sanding and coating process, and a little researching, it turns out that Kauri Pine & Celery Top Pine was the chosen timber for these grand rooms. I have only come across these types of timbers a couple times in my 20 plus years in the industry. Coating in a hard wearing Urethane Coatings WaterKote 2K Matt finish.
