Newest addition to our fleet getting some publicity
The latest issue of Earthmovers & Excavators is now on sale!
In our cover story this month we take a look at how family-run contractor Wiggins & Batchelor is employing a Volvo EC300E hybrid excavator on a wide variety of projects across Tasmania, supplied through CJD Equipment. With technology such as onboard weighing making reporting and operation more precise, the Volvo EC300E is also helping Wiggins and Batchelor achieve its environmental goals.
Elsewhere in Tassie, Hazell Bros Group has a Hidromek HMK 500 LCHD from Onetrak, which is currently working on a hydro scheme, showing impressive performance in difficult ground.
With bushfire risk now front of mind across Australia, we speak with Colbrook Industries and local landscaping company Dakota Contracting Services about how the Diamond Mowers range is invaluable to those looking to manage their vegetation and reduce fuel loads.
With technological advancements looking to increase operator accuracy and reduce fatigue, Komatsu Australia’s intelligent Machine Control 2.0 system for excavators and dozers helps contain digging and filling material within a set model, reducing rework and leading to significant efficiency improvements.
On the spare parts side, NSW’s Phil Hunt Parts is continuing to expand its offering, with the focus on John Deere going from strength to strength.
In Sydney, a new Rokbak RA30 articulated dump truck has joined Fleck Earthmoving’s fleet from Porter Group CE – furthering its ambition to be a ‘one-stop shop’ for earthmoving and construction needs in the area, while for Echuca Civil Construction in north Victoria, the standout performance of Sunward Equipment Group machinery, and the support from dealer Lynfield Mini X, means that for future machinery purchases Sunward will always be front of mind.
In this issue’s industry comment piece from Civil Contractors Federation - Queensland, CEO Damian Long warns of ongoing implications to the continued delay to the infrastructure review and we take a look at the 2024 iteration of the Women in Industry awards.
Also in this issue, Tillys Crawler Parts has announced the addition of Bedrock Attachments to its new and used parts and attachments range, we discuss a career in project management with Lisa Martello and her drive to be the change she wants to see in the construction industry, and speak with Precisionscreen Pty Ltd’s Jonny McMurtry about its range of flexible aggregate precoat options.
In addition, we look at Hastings Deering’s new HD360 platform that puts your Cat machine data, parts ordering, invoicing and credit information safely in the palm of your hand.
All of these great stories are in addition to the latest news and the best deals in Australia’s earthmoving industry today.
