As we welcome spring, we also mark the end of an incredible chapter as we say farewell to Paul Brown, better known as Brownie, as he begins his well-earned retirement. 👏

Over the past 16 years and many more as a contractor, Brownie has been a valued member of our workshop team, contributing across a vast array of projects and leaving a lasting impact on everyone who had the pleasure of working alongside him. 🙌

Last week, we gathered to give Brownie the send-off he deserved, complete with plenty of cheers and laughter to celebrate his remarkable career. 🥳

Thank you, Brownie, for your dedication, hard work and commitment over the years. We wish you all the very best for the next chapter and hope your retirement is filled with good health, happiness and plenty of time doing the things you love. 👏👏

On Friday we welcomed Huon Aquaculture and guests to the keel laying ceremony of a new 700t feed barge which is currently under construction at our Margate ship building facility. 👏

Designed in house, this is a new class of barge that will serve Huon’s operational requirements providing a safe and robust platform to house new feeding and control technology to further enhance fish growth, and performance.

Importantly the barge is being built by our team of highly skilled Tasmanian tradespeople, apprentices and industry partners, who are committed to delivering a high quality, locally designed and built product that will ensure this barge has a long service life working on the waters around southern Tasmania. 🤩

Thanks to the team at Huon for putting their trust in Crisp Bros. & Haywards to deliver another important asset to their fleet. 🙌

🚧Milestone Delivery Achieved🚧

We have successfully begun the delivery of the longest girders we've ever delivered, spanning 54m long and weighing in excess of 100t.

From navigating complex transport routes to safely landing the first delivery on site, this achievement is a testament to the commitment and collaboration of the entire team.

A special mention must go to our fabrication team, whose attention to detail, workmanship, and commitment to quality have been outstanding. The standard of fabrication on these girders has been exceptional and is a true reflection of the capability within our workshop.

A big thank you to everyone involved in making it happen — this is one we’re proud of. 👏
