‼️Tools stolen‼️

Unfortunately I am sharing this to warn other trades to stay vigilant. At arguably the busiest time of the year my business has been rocked and I find myself in a bit of a pickle with all my tools being stolen. When you’re in the trade industry you wouldn’t wish this upon another business.

On a brighter note, post theft I still had to go and clean up a job I was working on during the day. Turning a dull front entrance into a rather grand entrance. Crazy how crazy paving makes a difference 🤪.

Take care of your things and know even if the canopy or trailer is locked, you’re still vulnerable.

Last week I was out building yet another retaining wall in a veggie garden to make the space more usable and easy to traverse.

I know where I’ll be having my bbq this spring.

When I went out to quote this job, it was clear the area needed a bit of a face lift. And with the clients ideas explained, a clean canvas was given back with good bones ready for the seeds to be sown and plants to be planted.

Corten edging ✅
Custom steel screens ✅
Garden beds dug over ready for planting ✅
Front/back yard re dressed ready for seeding ✅
Replace wooden sleepers with slate grey concrete sleepers ✅
Provide a “cut out” and retain where necessary to provide an outdoor bbq area ✅

With all that’s left to do being to seed the new lawn and pick out what to plant and where, I would say all will tie in to be a hardy, low maintenance native space.

These goal posts came out far better than my footy career that’s for sure!

I was brought back out to Kyneton High School over their Easter break to replace their goal posts after a bit of destruction…

After marking out where the new posts are to go, I removed the old ones and their footings, drilled the new holes, placed the sleeves in their respective holes and got it all concreted in place, leaving me to slot the posts into their new homes and give the place a quick tidy, taking all the waste with me.

Let’s hope these posts will stand the test of time!

Just waiting on the rain…

These past couple of days saw me get brought in to assist these plumbers in digging some trenches to allow them to lay their pipe and hook up these new water tanks.

With the trenches dug, the pipe was able to be laid allowing me to backfill and level off the worked ground leaving very minimal trace of my works, just how it should be.

All that is needed now is for the tanks to be hooked up and a bit of rain and they’ll be in working order in no time.

Have a squiz at this little job I’ve recently completed. These clients are enjoying their new home, just not their “builder finish” to their outdoor area.

With their timber edging far into rotting already and this stock standard rock finish, they were looking to clean this area up and make it more appealing and useful whilst adhering to their budget.

Staggered paving design and some small ground creepers to go along with them, they are now able to comfortably walk along this area, whilst their new metal edging is working a treat on keeping the rocks off the grass, leaving all partys happy!!

Heres a recent completion of mine!!

This client just moved into their new home and was looking to build a fence, they shortly found out JHT Contracting were their newly acquired fencer 🤺

With sturdy solid hardwood posts these fences aren’t going anywhere, and so will any wondering pets.

I’d say all that’s left are some gates… Maybe keep your eyes peeled for those 😉

Got some old topping that is starting to thin out or completely disappear? Is the moss starting to take over? Want something different? Let me take care of it!

This job really got me back into gear after the break! With not all areas being accessible by machinery I had to get to work and pull up this old pathway by hand, however the driveway was no match for the bobcat.

The client was rather chuffed with the finished product, allowing me to leave with a smile 😊

School is back in session, or at least it was for me!

This week saw me out at Kyneton High School fixing up and re filling some rather large potholes.

Keeping your workplace nice and safe preventing any OHS issue is a must, and I can help with that.

Fully insured, WWCC, police checked, SWMS form filled and accepted - all requirements met to work on a government site.

Bada bing Bada boom 💥

This overgrown bushy area had gotten too much for my clients to tackle. And after a bit of thinking, they wanted something a little different 👏

Coming into summer it is paramount that fire threats close to your residents like this are reduced, leaving you to be safer and comfortable with what is around you.

Don’t you hate those little big steps…

This old shed got a new life when renovated into a studio. However the new slab was poured rather thick, creating quite the drop.

After been asked to come have a look, I was given a rough brief with a couple of requests and away I was.

Kept it pretty simple with hardwood sleepers around the outside and Tucson Ag on the inside. This step will last a lifetime.
