Weapons of choice (tools) for on ground trail design in the Northern Rivers.

This week has been a wash out but as soon as we get some drier conditions we will be back into it.

The electric pruning saw is great for cutting an access line into the somewhat feral subtropical forest that is currently choked with lantana and vines.

Once this next trail is built it gives us access to conduct w**d control, cool burns and restoration programs. Holistic thinking makes for truly immersive experiences!

The walking trails at Mt Arthur Reserve take you to some fantastic lookout points. Most of these trails have been enjoyed by locals since the 1960s.

In due course we will provide updates on how we are working with the Wellington (NSW) community and NFP that oversees the protection of this unique natural area.

Currently we have traversed and assessed the whole trail network and we look forward to assisting in the promotion, enhancement and protection of these great trails for future generations.

As part of our 12 month warranty and ongoing guarantee we got back to Orange to see how True Blue was holding up. It was also an opportune time to make sure the grade reversals were clear of pine needles and silt to allow rapid water shedding capabilities!

For the most part the trail has settled in well over summer with dirt shapes retaining integrity.

Naturally there were some aspects that triggered our obsession with dirt perfection so we carried out enhancements to our wall ride corners so they were more attractive and ridable for more peeps.

Today's kit! After some inspiration to enhance this wall ride corner had to get some tools as I was not planning to dig! Worked out sweet!

Cyclone have released a trail building tool. The Landscaper Hoe! Mass produced and available at Bunnings. Field testing going ok so far. Pretty good for the price and can be repaired or enhanced once the silly pin studs fixing the head to the handle give up.

Any thoughts or feelings about this new milestone?

Travelling around taking pictures of rocks, dirt and trees. It is still a thing!

It would be fair to say that there is at least 1 "Murray Scrub" in each Australian State. This 1 is the subtropical Northern Rivers version. The Murray Scrub Walk showcases an intact stand of ancient mighty Red Cedar that avoided logging. Red Cedar was highly prized timber and as a result excessively harvested. This patch survived somehow. Treemendous and such a privilege to visit. It will be a long time before any newer trees get this big! Even the teenagers were impressed!

50m tall Stinging Trees did also command respect!

For the most part I could not fit the massive Cedar trees into these happy snaps so just tried to capture the vibe!
