We've been working with Queensland clients for years. Now, we have a local team to support them.

This expansion allows us to be closer to the projects, industries and communities we serve, while continuing to deliver the experience, capability and capacity Central Steel Build is known for.

We value the opportunity to work alongside Queensland's agricultural, equine, aviation, industrial and commercial sectors, delivering facilities built for long-term performance and reliability.

We're excited for what's ahead and look forward to supporting even more projects across the Sunshine State.

Did you know that we have a hay shed calculator on our website?

The Oxley Feed Mill shed at Strangways came out at 72m long and 7m high, three-sided with room for three rows of large squares in every bay, which gives the feed mill the flexibility to hold hay through the dry stretches.

If you're thinking about covering your assets, our consultants will come out, check your site and the gear you stack in it, at no cost to you. They'll work out bay sizes for the best return on your spend and give you a hand with the council approvals if required.

Of course, the shed is an asset too, so we only build in Australian hot dipped galvanised steel.

October is Safe Work Month 👷
At Central Steel Build, safety is something we work on every day.

Weekly safety inspections, compliance reviews, fire drills, ongoing discussions with installers, and customer education all help us reduce risk and improve the way we work. We're also continually reviewing our designs to support safer installation methods and safer work at heights.

There is always room to improve, and we're committed to making safety a priority across every part of our business.

We're excited to be a presenting partner of the Heidelberg Materials Australia Wolffdene Quarry tour at the IQA National Conference.

The quarry's 500tph, four-stage crushing plant was designed and built by Ridge, and our team worked alongside Ridge to deliver it. A plant operating at this scale demands structural steel engineered to withstand constant vibration and a high-wear environment, and we're looking forward to talking with delegates about what went into the build.

41°C days don't leave much room for shortcuts!

When you're building in north-west Queensland, managing heat is a key consideration.

Bunnings Mt Isa was a 5,300m² retail hardware development delivered with Hutchinson Builders, featuring a retail store, outdoor nursery, landscape yard and canopy structures.

To achieve the required thermal performance across the facility, multiple blanket thicknesses, the Ashgrid system, and specialised polycarbonate skylights were incorporated throughout the build.

We had a great time at BeefEx on the Gold Coast last week. Thank you to everyone who came and had a chat with us.

A consistent theme throughout our conversations was that a cover is a long-term decision, and the people who get the most out of their covers are the ones who had it designed around the way they run their yards, rather than fitted to a standard size.

This feedlot cover, delivered for Darren Rethus at West Wimmera Beef, came about exactly that way. Australian steel, designed and fabricated in-house, and backed by a lifetime structural warranty.
