- EXCLUSION FENCING - There’s been a bit of noise around exclusion fencing lately concerning animal welfare, specifically the blocking of natural thoroughfares heightening chances of critters getting tangled in the fencing. While there might be merit to this in some areas, around the Macedon ranges by and nearby districts, things can be a bit different. To start with, most properties and needs are on a much smaller scale, which means animals don’t have far to go to figure out how to get around the obstacle, and from my experience, the higher fence and substantial lower ‘apron’ also actually deter animals from trying to get through, causing far less problems for the critters, and the property owners. Now these fences definitely aren’t for everyone or every purpose, but if it is an option you’re exploring and would like more info, I’m always happy to share my knowledge on the subject.

Who said the back side of these fences are ugly!?

In all seriousness though, these steel posts are going to last a lot longer than any timber would. Using steel avoids the dilemma down the track of posts rotting and falling over when the rest of the fence still has life left in it.
