We are looking for hands on HR Vac Truck operators.

GMR Enterprises is based near Penrith in western Sydney. We specialize in telecommunication civil works, which involves a lot of pit and pipe work, as well as asbestos pit upgrades (remove and replace), rod and rope, fibre splicing and much more..

We have a ‘work hard, play hard’ attitude and our employees are well looked after with excellent productivity incentives. Hard work is rewarded with good pay.

The successful candidates will be operating new Hino trucks with 7,000L VacDig units with remote control books. The work is mainly in the western Sydney area (Emu Plains area at present). The trucks are servicing our own crews mostly, performing NDD works for potholing services ahead of the civil crews as well as removing the ground around pits to be removed/upgraded.

Normal site hours are Mon-Fri, 7am-5pm, with some additional hours required for travel and dumping. Saturday’s are sometimes availale, but are mostly optional. Some night works required also, but not regularly.

Note we also have options for sign off for a 2nd year Working Holiday Visa, with regional opportunities available (travel & accommodation provided).

Required Experience, Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum HR licence.
- Minimum 2 years of HR experience.
- Minimum 1 year operating Vac trucks.
- Must be willing to get hands on and get dirty (Vac operator is not a clean job!).
- Must be mechanically minded - to be able to identify and monitor any issues with their truck.
- Must be capable of working solo. Off-siders are not usually provided unless required.
- Must have a clean and professional approach - themselves and the truck/equipment.
- Must have a positive attitude (no whingers). We have a fun crew and want to maintain that!
- Must be able to do the basics with an iPad.
- Must be willing to jump in a tipper or similar at times when their truck is in for service/repair.
- Anyone with experience using locators will have an advantage.
- Anyone with Traffic tickets will also have an advantage.

Vacuum truck operators

We are currently seeking an experienced Vacuum Truck operator/driver.

This position is casual to commence with the view to fulltime based on performance.

You will be responsible for:

Driving, positioning and operating vehicles in a safe manner using correct techniques dependent on ground conditions and manufacturers guidelines

Completing and submitting dockets, reports and other paperwork as required.

Maintaining clean equipment, supplies and operating vehicles.

Ensuring all tasks are carried out in compliance with company operational, Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) policies and procedures.

The successful applicant will have:

A valid HR licence
Minimum of 3 years experience operating a vacuum excavation truck
Experience handling and driving trucks
A valid OHS construction white card
Ability to work in physically demanding conditions
Demonstrated experience non-destructive digging
An enthusiastic approach to a fast-paced work environment
Flexibility to travel and work varied shifts including night shifts
Be committed to exceptional customer service
Positive and professional attitude to work and safety
Strong work ethic

The truck is rolling off the factory line and is only awaiting number plates, extra signage and the right operators behind the wheel.

Construction induction card
Availability to work overtime and occasional work outside ordinary operating hours
Police Check

Experience in the operation of utility investigation equipment including electromagnetic and Ground Penetrating Radar
Broad understanding of subsurface utility engineering standards and legislative compliance
Strong written and verbal communication skills
First Aid Certificate
