About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Truck & Dog Driver to assist with transporting rock and fill for retaining walls and earthworks projects throughout Cairns and surrounding areas.
A major project is currently underway for the next 2–3 months, with ongoing work booked through until Christmas — plenty of hours available for the right person.
The truck is based at the top of the range in Kuranda, so ideally you are located nearby or happy to commute.
Key Responsibilities
• Operate truck and dog tippers for rock, fill, and soil haulage
• Load and unload safely at sites and quarries
• Perform daily pre-starts and keep the truck clean and roadworthy
• Communicate clearly and follow directions
• Follow all road, load restraint, and fatigue management regulations
Requirements
• HR licence minimum (HC preferred)
• Proven experience with truck and dog tippers
• White Card (Construction Induction)
• Punctual, reliable, and safety-conscious
• Comfortable with a mix of site types (tight access, uneven ground)
Bonus: Experience with machinery transport or general site work
