Hi everyone,
This is another one of my 'do it yourself' post about the Southern Rail Models XPlorer/Endeavour DMUs released a few years ago suffering from chassis breakage to the Front & Rear of the Power Car in particular. I have repaired three of these models with success and I have outlined in the attached photos the model type I am writing about and what I used to repair the breaks in the chassis. First I used an Epoxy Glue manufactured by 'J-B Weld Company' in the U.S. As with any repair using a glue make sure all surfaces are clean from oil etc., use a metal straight edge rule to make sure the chassis is straight after being glued. When I repaired the chassis I first Cleaned, then around the break using a Hobby knife score into the metal so the glue has somewhere to bit into and do the same on the metal plate you are using to reinforce the break in the chassis. Most of the photos are numbered in sequence.
As always if you are intending to attempt this repair and not to sure about some of the details give me call, send a text or E-Mail me, my contact details are shown on my page.
Rick.

Hi,
I have put together another series of photos showing how to modify the Printed Circuit Boards of the Eureka 620/720 Class Railmotor DC version to a DCC version which will operate correctly using a Motor or sound decoder. The photos are numbered in sequence so the conversion can be completed step by step. Also the 3 Pin connecting Plugs between the Power & Trailer cars may have to be altered by re-soldering the Outer Wires to their opposite side as I have found One Set that I modified didn't require this to be done, so it is a must to use a Multi Meter to make sure your connections are soldered to the appropriate tab.
As previously posted, if you have any questions send me an E-Mail to [email protected]
Regards, Rick.

Hi,
I have put together a series of photos showing how to modify the light boards of the Auscision 73 Class 1st Run locomotive. When it was released it was only in a DC version, a DCC decoder could be installed BUT the lights would not operate correctly.
In the photos I have outlined what you do to have separate operating Red Marker Lights, Number Board Lights and the Headlights working together with the White Marker Lights.
This should help those keen enough to tackle this aspect of the loco and also have a very steady hand when soldering, cutting Traces on the Light Board or removing some components.
Please keep in mind if you attempt doing this modification the BLUE Wires are the Positive and the White, Yellow & Green Wires ate the Negative.
One thing I forgot to add, when assembling you will have to make up a small Printed Circuit Board to solder the wires from the electric motor, Bogie pickups, the Decoder, wiring from the Light Boards and don't forget to solder 750K to 1K Resistors for the Negative wires. The PC Boards Vero Type Strips can be found at Jay Car, you just cut it down to size to fit in the loco.
Also quite a few years ago in 2016 I posted how to install a sound decoder in the 73 Class showing the small PC Board etc.
If you have any questions just E-Mail me at [email protected]
Regards,
Rick.

Hi Everyone,
I have been very busy this year and that's the reason for no posts. I have a few DIY projects for those who like to do their own thing and there are a couple of videos of N & G scale coming in the new year. For the moment I have had this video made up for Christmas, hope you like it. Merry Christmas to all of you and thank you very much for your support even though I haven't posted much this year.
Rick.
