Ahrens is proud to have received the Facility of the Year (Resources & Infrastructure) award at the 2026 Australian Bulk Handling Awards for the delivery of the Sandalwood Feedlot feedmill upgrade in Queensland.

The award-winning upgrade was designed to improve efficiency, reliability and long-term capacity, helping support the continued growth of one of Australia's leading feedlot operations.

The project features an intake system with dual aspiration cleaning, new wholegrain storage silos, upgraded milling capability and a modern control room, creating a streamlined operation that can be managed by a single operator while reducing maintenance requirements and downtime.

Last week, the Ahrens Olympic Dam Workshop had the pleasure of hosting Roxby Downs Area School student Lilly for a week of work experience.

With a keen interest in metal fabrication and welding, Lilly joined the team to gain hands-on experience and learn more about what a career in the trade industry involves. Throughout the week, she demonstrated a fantastic attitude, strong initiative and a willingness to learn, quickly adapting to a completely new environment.

It was great to see Lilly embrace every opportunity and gain valuable insight into the trade, while also giving our team the chance to share their skills and experience.
