If you're a landlord, now is the perfect time to take advantage of the Queensland Government's Supercharged Solar for Renters program.

Eligible landlords can receive rebates of up to $3,500 to install rooftop solar systems on rental properties, helping tenants save around $700 per year on electricity bills.

Rebate amounts:

$2,500 for 3kW–4kW systems
$3,000 for 4kW–5kW systems
$3,500 for systems 5kW and larger

To be eligible:

The property must be a detached house, townhouse, or duplex.
Weekly rent must be $1,000 or less.
At least 8 months must remain on the current lease.
The tenant must consent to the installation.
Rent cannot be increased immediately following the installation.

Be Ready Before the Deadline

By 1 January 2027, all Queensland homes must have interconnected, photoelectric smoke alarms installed on every storey, in every bedroom, and in all connecting hallways. When one alarm is triggered, all alarms throughout the home must sound simultaneously. Smoke alarms must also be less than 10 years old and comply with AS 3786-2014.
