Is your switchboard keeping up with your home?

Older switchboards with ceramic fuses were built for a very different era, long before air conditioning, induction cooktops, EV chargers and a house full of devices. If yours trips regularly, has no safety switches (RCDs), or still uses rewireable fuses, it may be time for an upgrade.

There is nothing quite like playing tennis under lights that actually feel right.

Last week Ed completed a tennis court LED lighting upgrade for a customer in Wamberal, replacing their old floodlights with modern, energy-efficient LED. The goal was simple: bright, even light across the whole court, without the harsh glare that makes it hard to follow the ball.

The verdict from the customer? "It was like daytime at night, without being too bright." Exactly what we were after.

A good LED upgrade does more than look better. It spreads light more evenly, cuts running costs, and lasts far longer than the older gear it replaces, whether it is a tennis court, a driveway or an outdoor entertaining area.

SWITCHBOARD UPGRADE

Upgrading switchboards is something we do on a regular basis and we can’t stress enough that these are one of the most important electrical upgrades you can make.

The previous board for this job was original from when the house was first built. An upgrade was long overdue to bring the home up to current safety standards.

Older switchboards can’t always handle modern power demands and often lack critical safety features like safety switches (RCDs). That means a higher risk of electric shock, fire hazards, and overloaded circuits.

If your switchboard still has ceramic fuses or looks a bit “dated,” it might be time for an upgrade.

Your home should be your safe place, make sure your electrics are too.
