Nice bigger job for us on Balwyn North helping add on the this gorgeous old house. Site cut with over 300m³ removed, concrete sleepers walls with 3.4m deep piers, finished off with a pool dig into rock with another 100m³ removed. This job was a big learning experience for us. First time using the block pattern sleepers and learning that when they get cut they have to be rebated, which added days of labour. First time working for a builder/landscaper that skipped town and didn't pay us 20k. Some lessons are easy, some are hard, some cost a lot... As long as something is learned and it doesn't break you, it will make you stronger!

Another blast from the past. Nearly didn't post this with one of our sc****ly clad leaders, but it reminded me that we work through anything. 45 degree summers, pouring rain, freezing mornings. We may get out gear off from time to time or have to put a jacket on, but we have had 3 days where we have not worked due to weather in almost 6 years. You definately can't say we are soft.

It was a bit of a fight with the weather this week down in Mt Eliza for this one for Glenn from M.A.G. Building Services. We managed to get it done in 4 days big days instead of 6. That's 2 day, 2 ways, 2 trucks not burning fuel for a total saving of about 8hrs diesel which is a big cost saving given the current fuel crisis.
Hope everyone is surviving.
