💙 SO… WHAT HAS OUR BOSS KATH BEEN UP TO THROUGHOUT SEPTEMBER? 💙
September looked a little different for our Managing Director, Kath, who managed to step away from the day-to-day running of NOVUS Glass Kalgoorlie, NOVUS Glass Karratha and KWT Karratha for a little while.
And when you’re responsible for three busy businesses, sometimes getting away from the usual routine gives you the opportunity to come back with fresh ideas, new inspiration and, importantly, a bit of a recharge!
✈️ **FIX NETWORK NATIONAL CONFERENCE 2026**
One of the big highlights was attending the **FIX Network National Conference 2026**.
For Kath, the conference was an opportunity to take an encouraged break from the everyday demands of the businesses, while networking with other like-minded franchisees, sharing knowledge and bringing home ideas that can be implemented within our own teams.
One of her biggest takeaways was the importance of **better communication and networking within our states**. Working together, sharing ideas and learning from each other helps everyone continue to move forward.
There was also plenty of discussion around how businesses need to keep evolving — particularly with **local marketing, our online presence and AI**.
Kath sees AI playing a major role in the future and believes learning how to use these new tools effectively will be important as our industry continues to change.
🚗 **LOOKING TOWARDS THE FUTURE**
Another exciting development was **Auggie**, technology that Kath believes could play an important role in allowing us to assist customers remotely.
For businesses operating across areas as large as the **Goldfields and Pilbara**, being able to offer more remote support could make things much more convenient for our customers while helping NOVUS continue to stand apart.
👥 **IT ALWAYS COMES BACK TO THE TEAM**
Of everything Kath brought home from the conference, one message was particularly important:
**Work-life balance matters.**
Building successful businesses is important, but so is making sure the people behind them have a healthy balance between work and life.
Kath also enjoyed sessions focusing on leadership, Google and the future of AI — all areas that can help us continue developing our businesses and our people.
When asked what made her proud to represent NOVUS Karratha and Kalgoorlie at the conference, her answer came straight back to the team:
Knowing she has an amazing team working together behind her, allowing opportunities like these to be taken. ❤️
And that’s probably one of the biggest benefits of events like this — catching up with familiar faces, meeting enthusiastic new people coming into the network, sharing knowledge and seeing businesses help one another.
Kath summed up the conference in three words:
“Networking, holiday & fun!”😄

We couldn't let September go by without mentioning Kath's birthday!
After all the conferences, networking, learning and business talk, she managed to fit in a well-earned **three nights at Crown Casino with her girlfriends** — and by all accounts, she loved it! 🥂🎉
Now it’s back to business, with plenty of ideas for the next 12 months — including new strategies to elevate our online presence, embrace new technology and expand our ability to support customers remotely.
From all of us across NOVUS Kalgoorlie, NOVUS Karratha and KWT Karratha, we're looking forward to seeing where those ideas take us next.
