Very handy advice from the QBCC. The silicone seal is not a forever seal unlike what most people think. 🤔

Last week, we talked about what waterproofing is. This week, let's look at how to maintain effectiveness.

Even correctly installed waterproofing isn't 'set and forget'. Wear and tear over time can affect the seals, grout and finishes protecting the membrane underneath. Here are our tips for extending the life of your waterproofing:
✅ Hire a QBCC licensee to replace silicone joints every few years
✅ Talk to a QBCC licensed tiler to fix cracked grout or loose tiles
✅ Keep drains clear - no ponding water
✅ Skip harsh or corrosive cleaning chemicals

What you dont want to see after doing a demo on a new bathroom Reno… plumbers and tilers and other sub trades are undertaking full bathroom renovations for unsuspecting customers illegally.. how would they fix this to be fully compliant and under warranty when they aren’t builders.. ? Only use QBCC licensed builders for full Bathroom Renovations..

Latest completion at Murrumba Downs for Linda and Dean! Haven’t used the brushed copper fittings very often and it’s a nice finish when matched with tile angles and floor wastes. Thanks so much.!

I was out quoting this morning and this is what happens when you use dodgy tradies or you do it DIY to save a few $$ and you don’t have a clue what you’re doing..I often find out the tradies are generally unlicensed or not qualified… only use a licensed BUILDER.. trades such as tilers and plumbers aren’t legally allowed to undertake full Bathrooms Renovations. This is becoming way too common…
