Wild Island promotes excellence in creative arts, craftsmanship and design. It fosters insightful thinking and the building of community, especially as these pertain to the identity of Tasmania as a ‘wild island’. Thirty-six Views of the Mountain by Belinda Hall is now on display 🍃

Up next, we’re delighted to welcome Belinda Hall whose distinctly local work has been inspired by famed Japanese woodblock artist Hokusai. While he worked with woodcut prints & Fuji as his mountain muse, Belinda works in linocut & pays homage to our iconic Kunanyi. This is an insightful, poetic and distinctly different rendering of our beautiful locale. Views of Kunanyi are captured from both wild & urban perspectives, proving that our connection with wild places can be both profound & immersive or everyday & mundane. We’re excited to see this one come to life in September.
