Investing in Our Technical Capability

Kevlar Security Solutions is proud to have recently put members of our technical security team through the Verkada Certified Engineer (VCE) Access Control Specialist training in Brisbane.

The intensive training provided our technicians with further hands on experience across Verkada’s cloud managed access control platform, including advanced hardware configuration, system deployment and software integration.

This strengthens our capability to deliver clients modern, integrated security solutions including:

• Centralised cloud management - providing streamlined management of access control across multiple sites from a single platform.
• Integrated security systems - bringing together access control, video security and alarms within a unified ecosystem.
• Modern credential management - including mobile and touchless access options that simplify access management for organisations and their people.

We’re committed to continually investing in the training and development of our team so we can provide our clients with the latest technology, backed by technicians who are trained and certified to deploy it.

Congratulations to the team on completing their certification.

Today is International Security Officers’ Day
A chance to recognise the people who work around the clock to help keep others safe.

To all our KSS security officers: Thank you.
Whether you are working patrols, responding to alarms, guarding a site, supporting an event or helping someone through a difficult situation, the work you do matters.
Much of it happens quietly, after hours and without public recognition.

We appreciate the long nights, weekends and public holidays, the changing conditions and the responsibility that comes with wearing the uniform.
Thank you for your professionalism, commitment and the support you provide to our clients, the community and each other.

Happy International Security Officers’ Day from everyone at KSS.

“The Definition of Supreme Optimism is a Short Conversation with Tony”
-Tony Winch – 19th of June 2026

There are very few people in life who leave a lasting impression not through titles, rank, or recognition, but through the quiet consistency of their actions, the standards they uphold, and the way they inspire those around them to be better. Tony Winch is one of those people.

Tony has been far more than a security professional. He has been a mentor, an educator, a leader, and a driving force behind the culture and professionalism that defines KSS today. To me personally, Tony has been one of the most influential people in my professional journey.

Tony was one of the first people to truly show me what professionalism in the security industry looked like. His thoroughness, attention to detail, and flawless ex*****on of even the simplest task demonstrated that excellence is not reserved for extraordinary moments; it is built through discipline, consistency, and pride in your work every single day. What stood out immediately was not only his capability, but his willingness to teach. Tony never held knowledge back; he shared it openly, patiently, and with genuine passion.

Over the years, that professional respect evolved into something much greater. Tony became a mentor, a trusted friend, and a role model for what security professionals across Australia should aspire to be.

Tony’s passion for leading, training, and educating others has left a permanent mark on Kevlar Security Solutions. He dedicated countless hours to developing staff, conducting remedial training, improving operational standards, and ensuring officers understood not only what to do, but why it mattered. His training style was both thorough and eye-opening; challenging people to think critically, operate professionally, and take pride in the role they performed.
The impact Tony has had on KSS cannot be overstated.

Through his expertise in Quality Management and Workplace Health & Safety, Tony played a pivotal role in allowing KSS to achieve and maintain International Standard (ISO) compliance across critical operational areas. Those certifications represent more than compliance; they represent opportunity, accountability, and trust. Without the systems, guidance, and dedication Tony provided, KSS would not have been able to offer the opportunities and roles that now support such a broad cohort of Tasmanian Security Officers.

On a personal level, Tony invested significant time into teaching me the foundations required to continue maintaining those standards and certifications. Much of what I know about compliance, operational structure, risk management, and professional accountability came directly from his mentorship. The lessons he shared continue to shape not only my own work, but the direction and culture of KSS as a whole.
What truly separates Tony from others, however, is not simply his technical capability, it is his character.
Tony’s dedication to customer service is unmatched. The subtle nuances in the way he communicates, supports clients, de-escalates situations, and carries himself professionally are what make him stand apart from every other security officer I have worked alongside. He understood that true security is not simply about authority or presence; it is about trust, professionalism, empathy, and reliability.

Perhaps the greatest testament to Tony’s character is that he demonstrated leadership without ever needing a title to justify it. He proved that leadership is not a position; it is a mindset. It is the willingness to step forward, support others, share knowledge, uphold standards, and inspire confidence in those around you.
That optimism is something anyone who has spoken with Tony will immediately recognise. Even during difficult times, Tony had an incredible ability to focus on solutions, maintain perspective, and reassure those around him. Hence the title of this farewell message “The definition of supreme optimism is a short conversation with Tony.” It is more than a quote; it is something understood by everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Today marks Tony’s official departure from Kevlar Security Solutions, and while it is difficult to put into words the impact his absence will have, one thing is certain Tony’s legacy within KSS will remain for many years to come.

Although he may be leaving KSS officially, those who know Tony understand that he will never truly leave the security industry behind. His passion for educating, mentoring, and sharing knowledge will continue, and the wisdom, standards, and professionalism he has instilled in others will carry forward through every person he has influenced.

KSS staff, management, and clients alike will miss Tony greatly.
His presence, guidance, humour, professionalism, and unwavering support have shaped not only our organisation, but the people within it. The culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and professionalism that exists within KSS today is in no small part because of Tony’s contribution and commitment over the years.

On behalf of Kevlar Security Solutions, I want to sincerely thank Tony Winch for his loyalty, mentorship, friendship, and extraordinary contribution to both KSS and the wider security industry.

The security industry needs more people like Tony; people who lead through action, teach with humility, and inspire others simply by being themselves.
Tony Winch is not only an asset to Kevlar Security Solutions; he is an inspiration to Security Officers across the country.

While this chapter may be coming to a close, we know the next chapter will be just as meaningful, impactful, and successful as the one he leaves behind today.
Thank you, Tony.

Regards,

KSS
