A recently completed full electrical upgrade of a 1948 weather board home.
The original timber switchboard was replaced with a new metal enclosure, mounted discretely on the side of the house, including full RCBO protection on all circuits.
We completed a full rewire of the original cotton mains, removed all of the old rubber light and power cable. On top of this, we replaced all of the light fittings, switchs and power points to suit the customers preferences.
As you can see, the insulation of the rubber cable had completely broken down over the decades, paired with outdated fuses, power points with no earth, the list goes on. This was a disaster waiting to happen.
It's not always what's on the surface that matters.
