On Tuesday, we welcomed Hon Andrew Giles MP , Federal Minister for Skills and Training, and Hon Josh Wilson , Assistant Minister for Climate Change and Energy and Member for Fremantle, to our Henderson facility to see how Civmec are training the next generation of skilled tradespeople.

The Ministers toured our Fabrication and Assembly Halls and met our apprentices training in steel fabrication, welding and pipefitting.
They also spent time with two of our trainees from our 'Balance the Scales: Women in Paint and Blast' program.

Civmec continues to grow its apprentice intake and we're actively looking for local candidates ready to build a career in a skilled trade.

A special thank you to Skill Hire, Department of Employment and Workplace Relations and Defence West

It's been a great fortnight for engaging with future talent. Last week we welcomed students from the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), and this week we hosted the Curtin Engineers Club for a tour of our Henderson facility.
Students had the opportunity to see firsthand how Civmec operates, ask questions, and see what a career in engineering looks like beyond the classroom.

We're proud to showcase the kind of work engineers get to be part of once they graduate, and it's always exciting to think about the fresh ideas and innovation the next generation will bring to the industry.

Interested in starting your engineering career with us? Civmec's Graduate and Internship Program offers real experience, mentorship, and involvement in live projects from day one. Apply here: https://civmec.com.au/careers/graduate-opportunities/

64 tonnes. One piece. 5 hours.

We fabricated the new Mothers Bridge structure for Wagga Wagga, NSW. Originally set to be built in two halves and joined on site ahead of the lift. Our team developed an alternative transport support method that reduced the overall transport height, allowing the truss and main deck to leave our workshop as one complete, fully welded structure.

A 400-tonne mobile crane lifted it into position during a scheduled rail possession, with installation completed in just five hours.

Great work by our engineering and fabrication teams, and by everyone we worked alongside to get it there.

Last week, we brought our teams together for a BBQ to recognise the significant improvement in our safety performance over the past 12 months.

These results are a reflection of the commitment shown by our people every day. Strong safety outcomes are built through looking out for one another, making the right decisions and maintaining a shared responsibility for keeping everyone safe.

Thank you to everyone who attended, and especially to the volunteers who helped make the event possible.

As we continue to strengthen our safety culture, we're also looking to grow our HSE team and are currently seeking HSE Advisors. If you're passionate about workplace safety, we'd love to hear from you. Application details can be found in the comments.

Civmec welcomed the Taranaki Alliance to our Henderson steel shipyard and manufacturing hub.

The Taranaki Alliance is New Zealand’s premier industrial alliance bringing together the heavy engineering, manufacturing and supplier eco-system across the Taranaki region in New Zealand.

It was an opportunity to highlight opportunities for New Zealand suppliers as we deliver the next chapter of our ANZAC alliance with an integrated Australia-New Zealand defence industrial base.

To celebrate NAIDOC Week, Civmec recognises and celebrates the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC week invites us to reflect deeply, listen with intent, and honour the strength and resilience of First Nations communities. This year's theme is "50 Years of Deadly", a tribute to the people who built this movement.

It is also an opportunity to listen with intent to the voices of the next generation. Their energy, creativity and determination give hope. They are not only carrying forward the legacy of their ancestors but also reshaping the path ahead for all of us.

We are proud to announce that we have partnered with Madalah and will be sponsoring two high school scholarships for Indigenous students. This initiative reflects our commitment to supporting educational opportunities, empowering young indigenous people, and contributing to long-term positive outcomes within First Nations communities.

At Civmec, we are proud to stand with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and celebrate their contributions to our business and communities.

At Civmec, we believe in creating lasting value beyond our projects through meaningful community initiatives. Supporting local sporting clubs is one of the many ways we contribute to stronger and more connected communities.

We’re proud to see the Civmec logo featured on Fremantle City Football Club’s jerseys this CTF Women’s League South Division 6 season and to support a club that shares our passion for teamwork, development and community spirit.

This sponsorship is especially meaningful, with two of our own team members, Lisa and Suzy, who play an integral role both on the soccer field with this team and within their own roles at Civmec.

The team recently achieved an impressive second-place finish across seven grading matches, and with the season now underway, we're excited to follow their journey throughout the year.

We wish Lisa, Suzy and the entire Fremantle City Football Club team the very best for the remainder of their season.
