Strong partnerships don't happen by chance. They're built over time through trust, collaboration and shared success. We welcomed more than 70 clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and industry colleagues to our fourth annual Alder event on the Gold Coast.

The evening provided an opportunity to reconnect with valued partners, reflect on the year that's been and look ahead to the significant opportunities emerging across Queensland and Northern New South Wales.

As Dean Cheffers, CEO - Constructions, shared during the evening, partnership remains one of Alder's core values and is increasingly important as our industry responds to continued growth, major infrastructure investment and the opportunities ahead.

From community infrastructure and affordable housing projects to commercial construction, civil infrastructure and masterplanned communities, our ability to deliver successful outcomes is built on the strength of the relationships we create with our clients and project partners.

To everyone who joined us, thank you for your ongoing support, collaboration and trust. We're proud of what we've achieved together and look forward to the opportunities ahead.

Investing in the next generation by connecting them to the work behind the build.

Our recent Cadet Day gave the team the opportunity to step off site and gain real insight into how projects come together — starting with a visit to long-standing construction partner Richards Steel Fabrication.

From early fabrication through to installation, the walkthrough highlighted the critical role suppliers play in project delivery — from quality assurance and compliance through to planning, sequencing and supply chain coordination.

Richards Steel has been a trusted partner to Alder across many projects over the years, including current works at Hillcrest Christian College on the Gold Coast and the Rekindling the Spirit Wellbeing Centre in Lismore. Experiences like this give our cadets a better understanding of the relationships and collaboration required to deliver great projects.

The day continued with project and community-focused visits, reinforcing the broader role construction plays — not just technically, but in supporting people, place and recovery outcomes.

At Alder, building capability goes beyond the classroom or site. It’s about creating opportunities to learn directly from our partners, strengthening relationships and giving our future leaders a clearer view of the full project lifecycle.

Thanks to the Richards Steel team and everyone involved in making the day a valuable experience for our cadets.

Alder is proud to have delivered the new headquarters for Rous County Council in Ballina, bringing together administration, fleet and operational teams into a single, purpose-built hub.

Delivered on the former Thursday Plantation site, the project balances adaptive reuse with new-build infrastructure, creating a practical, future-ready facility that supports how the organisation operates today and into the future.

Scope included refurbishment of existing structures, new warehouse and operational facilities, council chambers, and supporting civil and landscape works — all designed to improve functionality, coordination and day-to-day efficiency.

A key outcome of the project was its sustainability performance, with approximately 95% of demolition materials recycled, reducing waste while retaining value within the build.

For our Northern NSW team, this project reflects the ability to deliver complex civic infrastructure through a considered, end-to-end approach — from planning, coordination and design through to final delivery.

Delivered in close collaboration with VDRO Architects, Ardill Payne & Partners and Spectra Fire Engineers, the project brought together a strong consultant team to achieve a coordinated and practical outcome.

With established teams across Ballina, Byron, Tweed and Lismore, we’re continuing to support local councils and organisations with projects that strengthen how communities operate and grow.

Alder is proud to have delivered the upgrade of the Stotts Creek Resource Recovery Centre, supporting Tweed Shire Council’s long-term waste and recycling strategy.

Completed within a live operational environment, the project required careful staging to maintain uninterrupted access to the landfill and surrounding facilities — while managing environmental considerations including landfill gas and stormwater systems.

The upgrade introduces improved transfer and recovery infrastructure, including a new waste and recycling station and site upgrades designed to enhance efficiency, access and day-to-day usability.

A key outcome of the project is improved material recovery on site — with covered drop-off areas helping divert an estimated 134 tonnes of waste from landfill each year.

For our team, the project reflects the value of practical, well-coordinated delivery in complex environments, where maintaining operations is just as critical as the build itself.

We value our ongoing partnership with Tweed Shire Council and look forward to continuing to support infrastructure outcomes across the region.

Great to see these bibs out on the field!

On any given Saturday morning, around 50 children will be running around in them—building skills, confidence and a love for the game. Supporting local clubs that our team are part of is something we’re incredibly proud of, because strong communities start from the ground up.

It also holds special meaning for us, having delivered the refurbishment and upgrade of the Gold Coast Hockey Centre ahead of the 2018 Commonwealth Games. Our building and civil teams worked together to deliver a new clubhouse, refurbish the existing facilities, and construct FIH world-standard hockey pitches.

It is great to see the next generation making the most of it as we head towards the Brisbane 2032 Olympics!

A stylish shout out to our LHC Junior Stix uniform corporate partners Alder Group and Sam O'Connor MP for supporting our new playing bibs. They were debuted last Saturday and the kids loved playing in them! They also looked impressive in team photos!

We recently had the pleasure of hosting a thank you event to celebrate the completion of our works at Grande Florida and Victoria Square.

These events are an opportunity for us to show our appreciation to the Client and residents for their ongoing support, patience, and collaboration throughout the construction process. Delivering projects in live environments is always a team effort, and it was great to come together and celebrate the completion of the works.

At Grande Florida, works included an external refurbishment featuring fascia and gutter replacement, repairs and a full repaint of the external walls and roof tiles, as well as the replacement of BBQ roof structures.

At Victoria Square, the project involved a comprehensive podium refurbishment, including waterproofing, swimming pool and spa resurfacing, construction of a new suspended deck, repainting, and the installation of a new shade structure.
