SITE PROGRESS | Summer site visits are a must went you have a courtyard this good 🙌
Our Hawthorn project, completed last year, has bloomed into the oasis it was designed to be.

During this build we took particular care in ensuring the established eucalyptus tree was protected, so that it could be enjoyed for years to come. It’s a delight seeing how well both the existing and, now established, newer planting is progressing. Our clients too are thrilled with the outcome on this carefully considered space.

FEATURE BUILD | Glen Iris Defined Spaces

Creating distinct zones within an open backyard doesn’t mean sacrificing flow - it means enhancing it. This Glen Iris project, completed summer 2022, showcases how intentional design & construction can define spaces, whilst maintaining seamless transitions between them.

Three zones, three purposes: entertaining beneath the existing pergola, open lawn for family use, and an elevated garden retreat with custom timber seating. Connected by crazy paving that guides you through the space, each area has its own character whilst working as a cohesive whole.

The recycled brick retaining walls provide structure whilst complementing the home’s heritage aesthetic. The established plantings offer texture and seasonal interest whilst the custom timber bench seat creates an elevated retreat with views across the space. As these plantings mature, the space continues to evolve into the layered sanctuary our clients envisioned.

Definition without barriers - creating purpose and character in every corner of your outdoor space.

DESIGN | Taking it back to basics. We pride ourselves on craftsmanship both in the final product and in the design phase. Our design process starts with consultation, concepts and where needed, the humble sketch - a powerful tool to visualise your future space.

This design focused on maximising impact in a small courtyard space for the client. Clusters of vegetation, with added height in planters, helps facilitate a sense of depth. This concept sketch illustrates the impact considered planting can make, prior to the clients committing further into the build phase.

DETAILS | Echium candicans (Pride of Madeira) showing off its winter moodiness. This plant is a stand out not only with its bold silver-green foliage, but for its bee-loving bright purple flowers. As the weather warms up, keep an eye out for the stunning colour this plant will produce - a feature in many Melbourne gardens.

FEATURE BUILD | Rosanna Multi-Use Oasis.
Completed Autumn 2024, this project is a great example of form and function working in harmony. Our clients wanted a multi-functional space centered around their custom-built pool, built into an existing zone, and all whilst utilising as much space as possible in their backyard.

Building this landscape from an original design concept, we worked extensively to rebuild from the ground up. Given level changes and proximity to the house, there was a significant amount of hardscaping to be done, as well a challenges to ensure pool compliance with a sunken feature garden bed. The end outcome resulted in a high quality product that we were able to meld into an existing landscape, ensuring seamless transitions between old and new.

Working with and our client, we were able to create a refined space that not only functions well but looks stunning from all angles. Each area is thoughtfully integrated, ensuring seamless transitions while providing distinct purposes. Our clients will be enjoying this space for many years to come!

BUILD | Details from our Glen Iris feature project, completed summer 2022.
Creating separate zones within a space ensures that your plants do more than just look good - they entice exploration and utilisation of areas in different ways, while providing visual depth to a garden.

Here, Coastal Banksias with an under-planting of Lomandra & Veltheimia block out a garden shed, whilst also providing a backdrop to a quiet seating zone with custom timber bench.

We’re proud of the craftsmanship behind this job, ensuring years of use for our clients and their families.
