🍊 Tangerine season = fresh juice season!

Straight from the tree, into the juicer and into the jug.

Nothing added. No sugar. No preservatives. Just beautiful, naturally sweet tangerines and ALL that glorious pulp. 🧡

There’s something pretty special about making juice from fruit that’s in season — especially when it tastes this good.

And I’m firmly in the keep the pulp camp! 😂 I love a juice with a bit of texture and all that citrusy goodness.

So… PULP or NO PULP?

🌼 So close to spring…

There’s something magical about those first signs that winter is fading — morning dew, blue skies and flowers beginning to bloom. The garden is waking up again. 🌿

Spring is nearly here, and we can’t wait to welcome it. 💛

🍊 Citrus season is in full swing at Bowerbird Naturals! 🍋

The dehydrators have been working overtime, filling the air with the most incredible citrus aromas as I prepare a fresh batch of beautiful Australian-grown dried fruit.

✨ Yellow grapefruit
🍊 Blood oranges
🍋 Lemons
🌿 Limes
🍊 Oranges
🧡 Tangerines & mandarins

If you’ve been wondering where I’ve disappeared to, I’ve intentionally taken a little step back over the past few months. I closed the online store for a while so I could spend some much-needed time in the garden, growing, planting and getting everything back to where I wanted it to be. Sometimes the best way to move forward is to slow down and reconnect with what started it all.

The good news… the online shop will be reopening soon! I’m busy restocking your favourites and creating plenty of fresh batches ready for spring.

In the meantime, you can still find a selection of Bowerbird Naturals products at:
🌿 Stirling Cottage, Harvey
🌿 Boola Bidi Dreaming Centre
🌿 Jilyara Wines

Thank you for your patience, your support and for sticking with me while I got my hands back in the soil.

🌺 Holiday harvests look a little different in the Top End!

One of the joys of travelling around Australia is seeing just how much our landscapes and gardens change from one region to the next. While staying with my sister in the Northern Territory, I was lucky enough to find a few rosellas still hanging on the plants – just enough for a little harvest. ❤️

Rosellas may have been introduced to Australia centuries ago, but they’ve certainly found a home in our tropical north, where they thrive through the dry season. Back home in WA I’m used to growing and working with different Australian bush flavours, so it’s always a treat to experience the incredible diversity of produce our beautiful country offers.

Being connected to the seasons is one of the things I love most. Every region has its own harvest, its own stories and its own way of growing.

I’m enjoying a little holiday, soaking up the sunshine and taking inspiration from every garden I visit. 🌿 Sometimes the best ideas begin with a simple bowl of freshly picked rosellas.

🌿 NAIDOC Week 🌿

This week is an opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate the world’s oldest continuing cultures, and to recognise the generations of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who have cared for Country and shared an extraordinary knowledge of Australia’s native plants.

As someone who grows and creates products using Australian bush foods, I do so with deep respect for the wisdom that has been passed down through countless generations. So much of what we know about these remarkable plants exists because First Nations people have nurtured, understood and lived alongside them for thousands of years.

Growing up in a farming family, I have always felt a strong connection to the land and the joy of growing food. That love has led me to Australian native plants, and I never lose sight of the rich cultural heritage they carry.

This NAIDOC Week, I simply want to say thank you to the Traditional Custodians who continue to share knowledge, care for Country and inspire a deeper appreciation of Australia’s incredible native flora.

May we all continue to learn with respect, listen with open hearts, and honour the stories that have shaped this land long before us.🖤💛❤️

🌿 World Environment Day 🌿

Ten years ago, I planted a tiny Burdekin Plum tree and wondered if I would ever see it bear fruit. Today, it stands proudly in my garden, a reminder that some of the best things in life take time, patience and perseverance.

The Burdekin Plum (Pleiogynium timorense) is a remarkable Australian native bush tucker tree, producing beautiful dark purple fruit rich in vitamin C. Hardy, drought-tolerant and long-lived, it provides food, shade and habitat while connecting us to Australia’s rich botanical heritage.

In a world that often moves too fast, trees teach us a different lesson. They remind us to think beyond today, to invest in the future, and to care for the environment one small action at a time.

This World Environment Day, plant a tree. Whether it takes five years, ten years or longer to reach its full potential, the rewards are worth the wait.

After all, the best time to plant a tree was years ago. The second-best time is today. 🌱💚

🐝🌼 Happy World Bee Day 🌼🐝

Today we celebrate the tiny pollinators doing some of the biggest jobs in nature. Bees play a vital role in pollinating the plants that provide so much of our food, flowers and thriving ecosystems — and without them, our gardens and landscapes would look very different. 🌸🍯

At Bowerbird Naturals, we see the beauty of nature every day, and bees are at the heart of so much of it. From flourishing blooms to abundant harvests, these incredible little workers remind us how connected everything truly is.

Plant a flower, support local growers, avoid harmful sprays and take a moment to appreciate the humble bee today. 🐝💛

Autumn at Bowerbird Naturals 🌸🐝

The cosmos are putting on a spectacular show this season… growing over 2 metres tall and bursting with the most beautiful colour 🌿

The garden is alive with butterflies, birds and busy bees, soaking up the warmth of these golden autumn days. It’s a gentle reminder of just how special this in-between season is—still full of life, yet slowly preparing for what’s to come.

A perfect time to get into the garden, enjoy the moment, and begin preparing for winter ahead 🍂
