Project Completion: Boronia Station
After months of hard work, passengers in Melbourne’s east are benefitting from a safer and more accessible Boronia Station, with modern new station forecourts and more open spaces for the community to enjoy.
The upgraded station features two new entrances with a striking canopy design inspired by flora from the nearby Dandenong Ranges. Our team at Custom Clad were proudly involved in the design, fabrication and installation of the canopy with custom curved and rolled solid and perforated aluminium panels supported by our top hat system.
Every panel is uniquely shaped and was built from our detailed 3D model of the canopy, so each curve, seam and perforation lines up exactly where the architect intended.
We also installed perforated screens for the plant rooms, 8mm equitone fiber cement sheets by the platform wall and aluminium columns at the entrance.
It was a tight access job with limited working windows, including where our team work night shift and weekend shift to accommodate the busy train schedules, but we still able to finished the job within the tight timeline.
Boronia Station is a great example of what our team can deliver, combining detailed 3D modelling, in-house fabrication and on-site installation to bring a complex canopy design to life, all within a tight program and around a busy train schedule.
