HAVE YOUR SAY ON MOREE PLAINS PROPOSED OFF-LEASH DOG PARK
At its Ordinary Meeting of 16 October 2025, Council resolved to endorse the proposed Webb Oval Off-Leash Dog Park Concept Plan for public exhibition for a period of 28 days.

The proposed off-leash dog park will transform the currently underutilised Webb Oval into a dedicated recreation space for dog owners and their pets, providing a safe, enclosed environment where dogs can play off-leash while promoting responsible pet ownership.

Mayor Cr Susannah Pearse said community feedback will play an important role in shaping the final design.

“Council is always looking for ways to improve the recreational spaces available to our community. The proposed off-leash dog park is designed to provide a safe, welcoming environment for dog owners while making better use of an existing community asset.”

“We are excited to present this concept. Our community has been crying out for a decent off-leash dog park, so we would love to hear their thoughts and feedback on the design,” said Mayor Pearse.

The concept for Stage 1 includes separate, fully enclosed areas for large and small dogs, complete with secure double-gate entries for additional safety, fully irrigated grassed areas to support long-term turf establishment and year-round usability, agility and exercise equipment for dogs, drinking fountains with integrated dog bowls, waste bag dispensers and picnic seating. Additional shade trees, landscaping and retention of existing barbeque shelter and amenity block are also proposed.

The proposal also incorporates several supporting infrastructure improvements to enhance the accessibility of the Oval. These include widening the existing driveway from Boggabilla Road to improve access for vehicles, caravans and RVs, and the construction of a new carpark and gravel RV standing area adjacent to the existing dump point to be completed in future stages.

Council is seeking community feedback on the Stage 1 concept plan. Residents are encouraged to review the concept plan and complete the online survey, which has been designed to capture community views on the proposed design and identify any additional ideas.
