It's finally finished!
This one has definitely been a patience tester and the house fought me at every opportunity.

But gee it looks good now and has added so much to the house.

Something different this week.

Big set of garden beds for home grown veggies and herbs etc.

Lots of effort in getting everything to line up. Lots of putting string lines up and down. 5.5 tonne of hardwood sleepers.

Thanks as always to the lovely S & J at Munbilla

This was.....a big week.
And I was humbled by the ol' 'hundred mil trick' leading to needing one new stringer and putting a big time pressure on to get it done.

Own your mistakes. Stay humble!

That said;
Was so good to do some proper carpentry. Biggest set of all timber stairs I've done and first time working to a landing in timber (it gets mounted differently using pre-fab steel stringers.)

I think it came up a million bucks and a massive improvement on the old set that were very much a hazard.

Quick and cheap little laundry upgrade.
Tall cupboard is for different laundry baskets.

Pretty good bang for buck on this one; yes it's my own laundry 🤣

I am done for the year!!
Looking forward to a proper break.
Have a number of things that are sore and so a rest is in order, I think.
Must be getting old....

To cap off the year, I'll show you some top of the line carpentry 🤣

Demolished this old deck and the decision was made to replace with turf.
Site cleaned & levelled. Laid an enriched soil mix. Laid Sir Walter buffalo.
Set up with a soaker hose and tap timer to take care of watering.

Thank you to all my lovely clients!
Choosing to use a small and local business means everything to me.

And thanks to my suppliers & sub trades; couldn't do it without you!

See you all next year. I've got some great jobs lined up already to kick off 2026.

Big couple of days helping Giebel Build finish this big patio at Harrisville in time for Chrissy!

12 X 6m; it'll add a lot of amenity to the house and provide some much needed protection against the western sun.

Posts at the front are set up for blinds and the nearside wall will be cladded for the TV and BBQ; a perfect setup for summer!

Back to Boonah this week.
Just a neat little truncated deck to link the house to the outdoor laundry I built earlier in the year.

Again, I used the adjustable KlevaKlip brackets. Keep the timber off the slab. They're a bit fiddly but they do a great job for their intended purpose.

I've also gone for wider gaps in the boards (with both projects) and kept fascias/cladding up high to assist with ventilation.

I was also able to reuse the old step for the front doors with a couple of adjustments.

Client just messaged me saying it's her new favourite part of the house ♥️🏠

This week also saw a return to Kalbar and those custom casement windows.

The top of the flyover roof has now been enclosed to limit wind and rain blowing in.
Gutter function has been maintained and simply by removing a few screws, the gutter can been accessed for cleaning/maintenance.

The shutters that will enclose the rest of the deck have been delayed but are inbound soon!

Front fence and gates completed this week.
Features custom made powdercoated posts and gate frames from the very particular Justin from Apex Metal.

This one was proof that good planning and preparation makes for a quality finished product!

Well this absolute monster of a job is finished!!

I refuse to count how many metres of sanding and dressing I did on this one...
Or how many half checked rails I did.
Need a new saw blade and a chisel sharpen after this one!

Lots more tin cladding. Learning new skills. Sliding gate was hand cut on site and came up really quite good. That's a new one for me too.

Safe to say, this is one lucky fuel tank!
