Last storm season, we got a call from a homeowner in Nerang who'd tried to take down a leaning tree himself after a big blow. What started as a "she'll be right" weekend job ended with a snapped limb through the garage roof, and a much bigger bill than a professional removal would've cost in the first place.
It's a story we hear more often than you'd think. Trees can look stable and still be under serious internal stress, especially after wet, windy weather like we get here on the Gold Coast. Add in power lines, fences, and pool areas, and a "simple" job can go sideways fast.
A few signs it's time to call in the pros rather than grab the chainsaw yourself:
π³ Leaning trunk or exposed roots
π³ Deadwood in the canopy
π³ Cracks or splits after a storm
π³ Anything near power lines or your roofline
If you've got a tree on your property that's been giving you a bit of worry, it costs nothing to get a second opinion. Flick us a message or give us a call and we'll happily take a look.
