Excited to share concept images for a new home in Burleigh Heads.

Perched on an elevated hillside site, the design responds to the unique characteristics of the site by capturing expansive hinterland views while maintaining privacy from neighbouring properties. A refined palette of natural stone, warm timber and textured finishes complements the surrounding hillside, helping the home feel contemporary yet grounded within its setting.

Looking forward to sharing more soon.

Set within the rolling landscape in Northern New South Wales, this contemporary farmhouse has been designed as a series of connected pavilions that respond to both the scale of the site and the surrounding rural setting.

Strong gabled forms and natural materials draw from traditional farmhouse architecture, while clean lines, expansive glazing and refined detailing introduce a contemporary architectural language. Organised around a central courtyard and pool, the home creates a strong connection between indoor and outdoor living, with textured masonry, warm timber cladding and deep overhangs grounding the residence within the landscape.

Large openings frame views across the property while allowing natural light and ventilation to move freely through the home, creating a calm and highly considered architectural outcome.

Dacelo Residence.

Perched above Airlie Beach with panoramic views of the Whitsunday Coast, Dacelo is a retreat designed for renewal, gathering and comfort.

From arrival, a defined approach leads guests from the driveway through the entry, across reflective water, and outward to the ocean horizon, a view corridor that established the home’s spatial direction and sense of anticipation.

Set within the coastal bushland at Agnes Water, this residence responds directly to its natural context, nestling into the landscape while opening toward distant ocean views. A warm material palette and low, articulated forms allow the home to sit quietly within its surroundings creating a strong connection to place.

Situated in the hinterland of Mudgeeraba, this project responds to the site’s natural topography and vegetated surrounds through a grounded architectural language.

The alterations & additions introduce clarity and spatial flow, expanding the living areas outward to engage with the environment & skyline views.

Framed outdoor spaces and subtle sculptural gestures reinforce a connection to place while respecting the original structure.

The Shed.

This project reimagines the typical shed or garage as an integrated architectural element within the landscape of the Gold Coast Hinterland.

The structure is embedded into the hillside, with a planted green roof that allows it to visually recede and blend with the surrounding terrain. The curved form follows the site’s natural contours, softening its presence and reinforcing a sense of connection to place.

Designed with sustainability in mind, the shed incorporates integrated water tanks, rainwater harvesting and passive thermal performance strategies. The open courtyard brings in natural light and ventilation while framing distant skyline views of the Gold Coast, creating a space that feels considered and calm.

This is where it all begins.

Before the 3D models, before the renders, there’s this. A basic concept sketch for an upcoming alterations and additions for a home we are working on.

Sketching lets us test, challenge, and explore ideas freely. It’s how we understand the site, shape the flow of a space, and unlock possibilities that might otherwise be missed.

At CVA Architects, design isn’t rushed. It’s revealed.

For many of our clients, the outdoor space is just as important as the interior.

That’s why we treat it as part of the home, not a separate zone.

From the orientation of the pool, to the transition from kitchen to alfresco, every decision supports how you’ll actually use the space:
• Sun where it’s welcome
• Privacy from neighbours
• Breezes captured from the right direction
• A sense of calm and connection

Good design doesn’t stop at the door, and neither do we.
