🦺 NATIONAL SAFE WORK MONTH | WEEK 3: FOR THE FUTURE

This October, Mi Electric is proud to support National Safe Work Month and the 2026 theme, Safe work is for life.

This week, we’re focusing on the future — because the decisions we make at work today can have a lasting impact.

Wearing the right PPE, assessing risks before starting a task and speaking up when something doesn’t feel right may seem like small actions, but every safe choice helps protect our future.

⚡ Think safe. Speak up. Look out for each other. Get home safe.

Taking the time to work safely, speak up and look out for your teammates today helps make sure everyone can keep doing what they love tomorrow.

⚡ Take the time. Speak up. Look out for each other. Get home safe.

🦺 NATIONAL SAFE WORK MONTH | WEEK 1: FOR LIFE

⚡ Work safe. Look out for your mates. Get home safe.

TEMPORARY POWER

Temporary doesn’t mean less important.

Temporary power supplies, leads and equipment are part of everyday work on site — and they need the same attention as any other electrical installation.

Before use, inspect your equipment, protect leads from damage, keep connections away from wet conditions and make sure the correct RCD protection is in place.

And don’t just check it once. Conditions on site change throughout the day.

⚡ Set it up safe. Keep it safe.
Safe power today. A safer tomorrow.

đź’› R U OK? Day 2026

At Mi Electric, we believe a conversation can make a difference, and that checking in with one another deserves more than just one day.

That’s why each year, we make a whole week out of R U OK? Day.

Across our teams, we take the time to slow down, come together over lunch, spend time with our workmates and, most importantly, genuinely check in with one another.

Working side by side every day means we’re often the people who notice when someone isn’t quite themselves. You don’t need to have all the answers — sometimes simply asking “R U OK?” and taking the time to listen can mean more than you realise.

This week is about reminding our team that looking out for your mates isn’t just something we do today. It’s something we should do every day.

đź’› Ask R U OK?

🔄 Check in

Here’s to good food, good conversations and taking the time to look out for one another.

R U OK? Any Day.

TEST IT. BEFORE YOU TRUST IT.

When it comes to electricity, never assume something is dead just because it has been isolated.

Use the correct testing procedure, prove your tester is working, test for dead and then prove your tester again.

It only takes one missed step for the outcome to change.

⚡ No assumptions. No shortcuts.
Test. Protect. Go home safe.

LOOK UP. STAY CLEAR.

Overhead powerlines are easy to overlook — but when operating plant, moving equipment or working at height, getting too close can have serious consequences.

Before work begins, look up, identify the hazard and know your exclusion zones.

Plan your movements, maintain safe clearances and use a safety observer where required.

⚡ Stop. Look up. Stay clear.
Safe choices. Every job. Every time.

⚡ REAL INCIDENTS. REAL LESSONS.

When it comes to electricity, assumptions can have serious consequences.

Before electrical work begins, make sure the correct isolation and lockout procedures have been followed and the equipment cannot be inadvertently re-energised.

đź”’ Isolate.
đź”’ Lock out.
⚡ Verify.

Take the extra moment. Follow the procedure. Get home safe.

⚡ Electrical Safety Fortnight starts today!

Over the next two weeks, we’ll be sharing some quick reminders about the simple decisions that help keep everyone safe around electricity.

Whether you’re on the tools, operating plant, supervising a crew or working around electrical infrastructure — electrical safety is everyone’s responsibility.

Stay switched on. Look out for your mates. And never take a shortcut when it comes to electrical safety. ⚡
