After an independent arborist assessment confirmed this heritage Cedar had reached the point where removal was the best option, we got the call.

With restricted access, every piece of the tree had to be moved through the property by hand. While Jack dismantled the tree above, Tom, Nick and Steve spent their days on the ground rigging, dragging and shifting timber through the garden and up the driveway.

By the end of day one they had clocked up more than 25,000 steps each, safe to say the boys felt this one!!

A massive thanks to The Tree Projects for lending a hand. It was great to be back working together again.

The silver lining? Some of the timber has already found its way into the hands of local artists, giving this old Battery Point character another life.🌳💚

The White Gums along Surf Road are about as iconic to Seven Mile Beach as Neil the Seal and the beach itself.

With our famous local visitor having moved on, it was a privilege to spend the day looking after these beauties, removing deadwood and lifting some of the lower branches to improve road clearance. 💚🌳

Thanks ABC Hobart for sharing Meg's story.

At the time, it simply felt like helping a worried family and a cat that had found herself in a bit of trouble (while Tom ticked "rescue a cat from a tree" off his career bucket list).

We've loved reading all the comments, messages and stories from fellow cat lovers over the past few days.

We're just glad she made it home. 💚🐱🌳

🐱🌳 The call Tom had been waiting 14 years for...

A few weeks ago, Tom received the call he’d been waiting for his entire arboriculture career.

“Hello... my cat is up a tree.”

The owner had called everyone she could think of. Even the fire brigade had been out.

Nobody could help. Tom didn’t hesitate.

We met Meg’s owner at her house before driving a few metres down the road to a tall Stringybark, where Meg had climbed far higher than any sensible cat should.

Meg’s mum told us she had been missing for three nights.

The day before, her daughters were walking along the street when they heard a familiar meow drifting down from somewhere above. Looking up, they finally spotted their beloved cat perched high in the canopy.

Relief quickly turned into worry, they had found Meg.
But how on earth were they going to get her down?

Tom climbed towards Meg, who thankfully seemed happier to see him than she was to spend another night in a Stringybark. Although, judging by the look on her face, she wasn’t entirely convinced of the rescue plan either.

After a few encouraging words and a brief moment of “is this actually going to work?”, Meg found herself tucked safely into his arms and back on land.

The moment Meg was reunited with her family was pretty special.

BTS and away from HAC, life has felt pretty heavy lately - particularly that week. But when times are tough a small act of helping someone else’s family can feel surprisingly important. ❤️✨

Turns out the Tassie cats have been keeping us busy lately...stay tuned 🐱🌳💚

It was awesome to be part of the Tasman Arch / Devils Kitchen upgrade on the Tasman Peninsula. Some exciting things are happening down there so can't wait to check it out again later this year once it reopens.

How lucky are we to live in a state with spots like this just a short drive away. Tassie is sick! 💚🌳

A large limb was hanging over a property in Seven Mile Beach. With a powerline running directly under the limb and no clear drop zone to work with, using a crane to lift it into the nearby carpark was the safest and most efficient option. 💚🌳

This wattle had to be joking, growing straight over a house in Lauderdale... we didn’t find it funny.

Paicey was especially unamused, climbing right out to the tips to safely dismantle it away from the roof and put a stop to the nonsense once and for all.
